“We're happy to have him here,” Trinity coach Bob Beatty said of Bishop. “What a tremendous effort by this entire group, and those guys (the offensive line) did a heck of a job blocking up front.”
The Shamrocks, No. 4 in The Courier-Journal's Litkenhous Ratings, were in control late in the third quarter when Bishop rambled 66 yards to score, making it 28-7 with 2:36 left.
Scott County answered with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Tevin Buffin to James Happy. Despite a missed extra point, it was 28-13 and the Cardinals had some life going into the fourth quarter.
It didn't last. Bishop finished off the Cardinals with a 60-yard touchdown run with 11:12 left in the game, making it 35-13. He added a 10-yard touchdown run with 3:10 left to make the final margin, setting single-game school records for yardage and rushing touchdowns.
“It feels good,” Bishop said of the records. “But I wouldn't have been able to do this myself.”
Trinity (10-4) advances to play St. Xavier in the state final on Dec. 5 at Western Kentucky University.
Trinity put together a successful drive midway through the first quarter. Taking over on their own 20-yard line with 7:01 remaining, the Shamrocks set the tone with a 14-yard run by Bishop to go up 7-0.

The Shamrocks answered before the break. to Bishop for back-to-back runs to the 35-yard line. Kragthorpe went to the air after that, and with 1:39 left in the half he connected with Morris for a 17-yard pass to the Scott County 28.

“We weren't aggressive enough,” Beatty said of his team's first-half defense.
