HALFTIME: Eizabethtown 27, Lexington Christian 15: The Panthers have played an impressive first half and are getting big production from stars Natalie Greenwell (8 points, including two three-pointers) and EKU signee Alex Jones (10 points, eight rebounds). LCA is being led by UK commitment Sarah Beth Barnette, who has 11 of the Eagles 15 first half points. LCA has hit just one of its 14 three-point tries.
Coach Jason Seamands is fond of saying that the Eagles live and die by the three-pointer. Right now, E-town’s three-point shooting is killing them. The Panthers have hit three in a row and have a 23-13 lead with three minutes left in the first half. LCA is 1 of 13 from three-point range. Barnette has 11 points for LCA.
After one quarter, the Panthers have a 14-9 advantage.Three-pointers are not falling yet for the Eagles, who have hit just one of their seven attempts. Barnette has seven of LCA’s nine points. Alex Jones has seven for E-town.
