Lexington Christian: won 15 straight and 23 of its last 24 games. School is making just its second trip to the state tournament and its first since 2007 when it won the title.

Elizabethtown: Elizabethtown has won 16 in a row and 25 of its last 26. The Panthers are making their seventh trip and second straight. They advanced to the state’s final four last season and won a state championship in 1998.

Oh wow, not as close as I thought it would be. Hopefully LCA makes a run in the third.
Trying to listen at work, but I think LCA is in foul trouble.

HALFTIME: Eizabethtown 27, Lexington Christian 15: The Panthers have played an impressive first half and are getting big production from stars Natalie Greenwell (8 points, including two three-pointers) and EKU signee Alex Jones (10 points, eight rebounds). LCA is being led by UK commitment Sarah Beth Barnette, who has 11 of the Eagles 15 first half points. LCA has hit just one of its 14 three-point tries.

Coach Jason Seamands is fond of saying that the Eagles live and die by the three-pointer. Right now, E-town’s three-point shooting is killing them. The Panthers have hit three in a row and have a 23-13 lead with three minutes left in the first half. LCA is 1 of 13 from three-point range. Barnette has 11 points for LCA.
After one quarter, the Panthers have a 14-9 advantage.Three-pointers are not falling yet for the Eagles, who have hit just one of their seven attempts. Barnette has seven of LCA’s nine points. Alex Jones has seven for E-town.

Elizabethtown has gotten off to a fast start 12-6 over LCA, forcing Coach Jason Seamands to call a timeout to settle his group down. The Eagles already have two players, Anna Martin and Rachel Cox, with two fouls apiece.
Two minutes into the third quarter, LCA already has hit two three-pointers. The Eagles have the ball but E-town still has a 32-25 lead.
I've got Elizabethtown taking the game anyway, just figured that it would be a closer fight.
The Eagles have used a 14-5 run to get back within three points 37-34 with 4:15 to go in the third quarter.
After three quarters of play, this game is now living up to its No. 1 vs. No. 2 hype. The Eagles have used a huge run and are within a point of Elizabethtown 39-38. The fourth quarter should be a doozy.
The Panthers have responded to LCA’s big run with six unanswered to take a 45-38 lead with 5:16 remaining.
With four minutes to go, E-town got caught in a trap and had to call a timeout, but the Panthers still have the ball and a 45-41 lead.
Final media timeout at 2:52 and Elizabethtown has a 48-41 lead and Jones will be shooting two free throws that could put the Panthers up by nine points. IMO, if LCA does not come out right now and make a statement, this game is over
Back-to-back Martin buckets have LCA within four, 51-47, wtih 1:22 to go.
E-town has a 54-47 lead with 37.6 seconds left. Greenwell is at the free throw line for the second of two free throws.
LCA barely clings to hope after a Rachel Cox three-pointer gets the Eagles within 54-50 with 10.3 seconds left.
