I will agree that throwing of anything onto the court, be it bouncy balls, toilet paper, or whatever, needs to stop. I know certain teams have a "tradition" of throwing objects whenever their team score its first points, but I have always felt it is a disruption of the game and should not be tolerated. Never understood why there is always a "warning", it should be a technical on the first offense.

To be honest, though, it's not really fair to call a technical and penalize the team, since they don't have anything to do with it. The more appropriate response would be to eject any guilty parties from the arena immediately.

Now there is no warning. It is an automatic technical foul, with subsequent technicals on any side's team that throws an object. Also, anyone caught throwing an object is to be escorted out of the gym. I agree with you, it is kind of silly to T the team, but I don't really know what else you can do because it does disrupt the game so I guess one team has to be punished.
