I don't see a problem with it personally. People are talking about players getting hurt. If you can't dunk without the possibility of getting hurt, then you don't need to be dunking. If you decide to anyways, and you get hurt, then that's your own problem because you should have never been dunking in the first place. If you can't dunk the ball without grabbing a hold of the rim, then it's not considered dunking in my opinion. Dunking doesn't constitute grabbing the rim. The best dunkers just slap the rim while throwing down.
