Ervin Stepp played at EKU and was never a star player in college. Ervin's brother Jimmy played on the same EKU teams as Ervin and was more productive of the two. Ervin played at EKU from about 80-85. The Charlotte Hornets did not even come into existance untill about the 88-89 season.
