What is class? None of the Pikeville coaches or players were doing anything extraciricular. After every TD a PAT was attempt. They ran NO trick plays. They weren't airing it out every play. They didn't take violent hits at anyone. All they did was play football. That simple. When Daniel Harmon and all the other SRs came to play this year this is what they came for, to play football. Not to sit on the sidelines, not to play one half, to play 10+ GAMEs. Is it fair that Daniel Harmon should sit out because someone else's feelings might get hurt? As to my knowledge all of the Panther players showed respect to the South Floyd players. So, I think we need to re-think what class is. Maybe if you want to say that you don't need to make people feel bad about themselves by beating them, then sure, say that. But this is not the Pikeville teams of old. It is a middle-class A school that is just playing football. It isn't their job to worry about other teams. They just need to go out and play the game. HAIL PIKEVILLE!!

I understand that you are trying to justify playing these kids through the 4th quarter by saying they "same to play 10 games, not sit on the sidelines." The fact remains, that Pikeville has been sub-par against decent or better opponents and they are taking out their frustrations/padding their stats by running it up on lesser teams.

When I played, we sat on the sidelines for half of our district games. I did not complain. Is it frustrating as a player? Yes, sometimes it is, but there's also a sense of accomplishment when you go in and dominate a team to the point that you can take a break for the rest of a game.

Those games are also good for building in-game experience for the younger kids. On top of that, they help the starters rest up for next week's game.

If the coaches were not trying to gain respect by graduating an all-state or D-1 player, then this wouldn't be happening. The coaches want Harmon to look like a beast - he can't do that against any other teams (and that's not his fault, it's his line's) so they are taking every opportunity to pad his stats against these teams.
