Whoa here now. What makes you so sure I am responsible for getting any other thread closed down to begin with. Best I remember several other folks offered some thoughts of their own in several other threads.

To be honest with you I am not sold that Adams was in the best position in the lineup last year to begin with. I would have thought that he would have better served in the 3 hole. And for your information the leadoff batter is never pitched to the way a 3 hole hitter is. Much, much tougher in the 3 hole.

I'd sure like to see those stats to confirm that statement, because I really dont believe it for one thing. I dont think that you can come up with statistical evidence to back it up anyways. I really dont ever remember seeing Daniel make all that many errors to begin with. Yeah he made some, but playing short is a dang tough position to play. He fielded the ball much cleaner than the guy before him so I dont think he did so bad. Whadda you want to bet that Daniel probably had twice as many fielding oportunities as his predecessor did? I'm willing to wager he was able to get to twice as many balls which obviously gave him twice as many opportunities though. Some of those balls he was able to even attempt to make a play on would otherwise have just gone through a bunch of holes with someone just standing there watching them go by. I'm sure your not even taking any of that into consideration. Cant charge an error to someone who cant get to the ball to make a play on to begin with,can you?

I said was that this year will be a little different than last year. Go ahead and name me one other player coming up that has a big stick reputation. I cant think of any, thus the reasoning for my statement regarding the '09 season. As anemic as you may have thought that it was last year, I dont think it will be any where as good this year. Perhaps someone will surprise everyone though. I saw Austin Lyons play postion over the summer and he looked like he was swinging the bat pretty well. Perhaps he will have a potent stick.

you might watch a couple of high school games that paintsville plays in the regular high school season and come up with these statements but you have to account for what these kids do in the summer...which by the way is much tougher than the high school season as you know....I wont argue that paintsville needs to find more than one slugger and it in theory would be possible to pitch around one hitter...if that is all they had, but if you think we were a sluging team last year then you are mistaken...I would also agree that corey probably should hit in the 3 or 4 hole last season, at the same time corey has hit in the 3-4 hole for post 76 during the summer and fall and they face much tougher pitching than the high school season has to offer and he hit very well both left handed and right, if a kid can it ..a kid can hit .....so pitch around him and put him on base every time ....all the better it is a team sport and we will have at least one hitter to deal with besides corey,,,as for Conley he plays golf in the off season.....will he be the best in the region...who knows .. he wasnt last year , I seem to recall a first at bat home run in the district off the bat of adams last year and I know that they tried to pitch around him then...but until the season my money would be on the kids who work on their game at a higher level in the off season..Im pretty sure that you subscribe to the same thought processes....
