[Shady Grady]

I know of one girl who graduated from Pikeville a couple years ago and she was constantly putting down those from outside Pikeville. I took exception to that attitude but I'm sure she didn't speak for all of Pikeville. I know some good folks from Pikeville and some real snobs. I also know some good folks and snobs from every school in the county. It is common thought that Pikeville people think they are better than others. I don't know if that is totally fair. Judging a whole school by a few is not fair. The AD at Pikeville has made comments that doesn't help. I have heard him say, "Ignorance never ceases to amaze me", referring to people from other schools. Comments like those aren't good PR. But if people are jealous because Pikeville has pride and wants to excel in everything they do, then the problem lies within. I too, used to have an attitude about Pikeville, but then the better I get to know some of them, the better I like them. I think we should give all people in every school a fair shake, be cordial to them and see if it is reciprocated. After all, we are all Kentuckians.
