Cards hang in to get a hard earned win at Paintsville to win the 57th district tourney. Paintsville has to be the worst venue to play. Every single year like clockwork drama erupts.

The drama was with adults, not the players. Grown ass man trying to get on the floor to fight a 15 year old kid. Assistant coach cussing out the opposing head coach, dropping F-bombs so loud everyone in the gym could hear it. Same assistant coach telling an opposing player that he would beat his ass and his coaches ass. Wait a second, that was a Martin County fan trying to get on the floor and had to be restrained by 3-4 people and the cops. And wait, that was a Martin County assistant screaming “Eff You” across the gym at Slone and telling Fugate he’d whoop his ass and Slone’s lol. You were right though, definitely some drama.

Sorry I cant resist!! Why was Martin Co asst. Screaming at them that they were tiny Christmas workers with pointed ears who are wizzes with small hammers? I sont understand that one!

Lol no clue about any of that. Maybe they told him he had a small hammer lmao.  The issue with Paintsville is this. The man who I believe was the kids father who got knocked nearly unconscious due to 2 hits above the head was escorted out immediately by several police. Immediately after a former Paintsville player walks courtside into Martin co section actively trying to start a fight and had to be restrained. That person was allowed to remain in the gym the remainder of the game. Enforcement at Paintsville is always skewed. Just before the assistant from mc raised up and said whatever he said, coach slone in conjunction with 2 women from behind mc bench walked towards him pointing fingers and screaming towards him.  Where was the police presence??  Martin co won the game yet the police were making mc fans stay in the bleachers?  Ever heard of sore winners???  Paintsville fans were the ones pissed off yet not a single security presence on that side of the gym and Martin co was treated like criminals.  That’s the point to all of this.  The rules apply to thee, not to me…Paintsville has been like this for years and everyone outside of Paintsville knows it. It’s talked about everywhere. Just like refusing a game ball to the girls champions, it’s all sour grapes over there. If I were a Paintsville alumni I’d be ashamed to hear that we hosted a tourney and refused to hand out the game ball to the coach of the winning team. Especially the most legendary women’s coach in 57th district history.  It’s shameful and an embarrassment to paintsville.  I hate losing but I’d hate even more to be a sore loser.

That’s crazy! I’d have to say if my son took two unprovoked intentional hits to the head I’d be having a heart to heart with the coach because teenage kids don’t do that type stuff without either being told to do so by a coach or discipline is so bad they know nothing will be done or it’s expected.

I have zero problems with hard nosed fouls and even if two players go at due to emotions running high it’s sports that happens but to take shots at a kids head unprovoked again a serious problem for somebody very soon.
Let me add though I haven’t saw the play just saying if I’m fact 2 head shots unprovoked to my kid or actually any kid I’m coaching and me and someone is gonna throw down. Most likely verbal on the court then physical in the right place. May beat the brakes off me but would have it to do.
