I think the difference was Boyle’s experience being in those games. And Coach Haddix’s experience coaching in those games. When it was do or die time in the 4th, Boyle rose. When we had it 4th & 1 w/ 2 min to go in our own territory, Boyle didn’t blink it was go make the play to win the game and we did. Some are talking about penalties, but the surprise to me is that it was actually much closer in penalty yards than I expected. Boyle always gets heavily flagged 70-80 yds worth to their opponents usually 5-10yds. In 2 championship games 2019 and 2021 Johnson Central had I believe 7 yards in both games combined. I have not verified for this game but was told Boyle had 73 yds penalties to Corbin’s 46.
