You people crack me up. Do you stop to think about, for one second, the timing of the transfers Raceland has gotten? Its not a coincidence that the facilities and academic opportunities came about and now we have an influx of transfers. Since last year, I believe there are around 10-15 athletes that have transfered in, grades 7-12. Now, lets take a look at the numbers. Raceland has been at or around 900-1000 students k-12 for the last decade or so. In the blink of an eye, we are hovering at or around 1200 kids. Thats apx 2% of our student body, that are atheletes, that have transfered in. Maybe you people from surrounding areas want to look inward as to why you are losing kids. How bout the teachers from the surrounding schools that send their kids to Raceland? Is that not a sign? If you lost a kid due to transfer, they didnt want to be there in the first place. On on Raceland High!

At the end of the day these are high school kids whose parents made what they felt like was the best opportunity for them to have a good high school experience.  In 20 years no one is going to really care that they transferred schools as long as they were able to use the lessons that they learned to become successful adults.  For the most part all of the area schools are good at producing quality people and we should all be happy for each other’s success instead of becoming bitter because someone didn’t want to stay at a school for whatever reason. 

As for this week, this will be the first true cold weather game this season and those conditions can always play a role in how teams play, especially when you rely on speed like Raceland does.  I agree with Scotty’s assessment and I think this will be much like our game against Highlands.  I look for Paintsville to come out hard and they have some good players that can cause problems but I think depth will be their downfall in the later phases of the game.
