Mac knows how to get his team to peak for sure... he is on an absolute roll right now and has Pikeville built for continued success for sure.

I still can't shake how different and more aggressive Pikeville's offensive game planning was in the games against bigger schools that had huge crowds and fanfare that they didn't have to worry about potentially seeing a second time. When Pikeville played all three it was like taking center stage. Against Paintsville and Raceland it seemed it was solely about relying on the D to get the job done and getting reps needed on O.

I felt like the first Hazard game was the first time Pikeville decided to flex their muscle and make a statement against a 1A team and boy did they.

I also don't buy that it was an especially weak 1A as someone just said. I think it was a pretty average year for 1A, and as evident by Paintsville's win, even if Beechwood was still in this class the result would have been the same. Last year was an especially stacked year in 1A so it isn't fair to compare.

Said the same thing after the first Paintsville game and Raceland game. Coach Mac is no fool. He knew he’d see one or both of them later on in the year. He had enough confidence in his team to know they could grind out wins against them with a little more conservative game plan. He knew he’d better not show them all he had that early in the year.
