I think the issue is, who considers this a “big job”? It is obvious you do, and as a fan you should, but do outsiders see it as a “big job”?
I have no clue who Coach Johnson is but who were the other applicants. Maybe the options were not any better. I understand that you feel they over looked a good candidate in Coach Lucas (who I agree has a solid reputation of rebuilding programs) but maybe they did not have that quality of applicant this go round.

Dunbar is a tough job but it is a big time Ky H.S. job. It is one of the largest high schools in Kentucky located in the Jewel city of the state. Not many jobs get bigger than that, however, not many are tougher due to an admin completely controlled by parents/students everyone in Lexington knows that. As far as quality applicants the administration never advertised it on KHSAA or listserve. What School serious about football doesn’t post their head job to sites that will give their vacancy maximum exposure?
