Everybody gets a trophy theory!!

Everyone gets to play in the regional tournament. However, not everyone has to earn it!
I at first thought it a good ideal, but in reality it cheapens the games much like the first couple of rounds in football. The revenue from the 1st round won't make any difference because they will be poor competition. Should just leave it alone and be done with it. It has worked for fine for 100 years.
