I agree with that but that's not what you said. You said you didn't think they did anything wrong and its natural to react to that situation. Where I agree it is a natural reaction, I think high school, college and the pros all know their opponents. The players and coaches know which teams they can get a reaction out of and which they can't. Even though it is a natural reaction it is something that can be controlled with maturity and mental toughness. They knew they needed to take Lawrence out off their game if they had a chance of winning. As soon as you allow them to provoke you, you have taken the focus off of what your goal was. Even though you won it should have been much worse. It is a teachable moment and good coaches know how to work it to be a learning experience. All I'm wondering is given the history will that happen or will he move on to the next game? There has to be team consequences as well as the suspension or it will appear to the player that his coach has no issue with what happened, and it will happen again and again and that same mindset will follow them beyond graduation into adulthood.

I do not believe the Breathitt coach instructed his player to jerk the helment off a LC player and start beating him with it to throw him off his game. And any player who violated team rules will be held responsible even if it means LC has to play all JV players the rest of the year. Coach absolutely will not tolerate and would never encourage any type of unsportsman like conduct even if he was playing for the championship of the universe. regardless of KHSAA sanctions coach will fairly and quickly deal with those that broke the rules. There have already been lineup changes as of yesterday.
