I am not sure what counties you are referring to when you state that Williams carried the ones in far southeast Kentucky. The counties I considered far southeast were carried by Brashear. That would include Letcher, Harlan, Pike, Magoffin,Perry, Breathitt, Floyd, Knott, and even Johnson(a predominantly Republican County). I believe even Knox County voted for Brashear. The counties that voted for Williams generally vote Republican anyway.

Right. I guess he meant the south central counties, that hardly ever waver from republicans. You will notice that most of the red counties shown there, won't even vote in alcohol sales.
