It is completely foolish to suggest that Ashland should drop Boyd or Greenup County even if they were not in the same district. Those are natural rivals.

I'm sick of the Northern Kentucky is far superior bullcrap. Highlands and Sometimes Cov Cath can make that claim but the rest of Northern Kentucky can't. Russell played Simon Kenton when they were competing for 6A championships a couple of years ago and it was hardly a mismatch. That was an average Russell team at best.

Ashland or Belfry are not Highlands. Highlands gets the best of surrounding districts in a heavily populated area that school district boundaries a virtually meaningless. That's not knocking them! It is a tribute to their unmatched tradition and passion. Even the mighty bluebirds have had down times though.

My point is Ashland and Belfry are both fine with who they play. Why should they schedule far away games that would be costly and inconvenient. They have natural local rivals that filll the bill fine.

I applaud your attitude. However, your stance on scheduling will never result in a trip to play for a state championship.
