Then took them to a third school because as 8th graders they did not get as much attention as other kids who were born and raised in that system. Whitley provides great equipment to the kids and every opportunity to succeed, but due to the way the elementary school program is run everyone thinks they are stars, thus when they find out they are average and have to wait their turn to shine they get mad and quit....I could give you a bushel full of reasons, but honestly the reasons are as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Every school has those issues at some point though.
Parents are not an excuse IMO.
I think Whitley has a good feeder program for the most part. Kids are able to be competetive at a yound age and with 6 elementary schools to choose from, there should always be players around. The middle school use to not have a problem with getting 60 or 70 kids out for each grade.
Its a shame that there are that many kids in that school and all we have is 40 players.
