I played at Harlan and they would rock our bus all the way up to Evarts field and sometimes windows were broken out. Then there was a big buckeye tree on the hill above the field and I can remember those buckeyes bouncing off our helmets during warmups. The Evarts Wildcats really knew how to welcome you to town. Didn't bother us though,we never lost to Evarts the 4 years I played.

That makes us even. In my four years Evarts never lost to a Harlan team. Of course Harlan wasn't very good in those years. Our most intense competition was Middlesboro, Corbin, and Lynch.
