I think many of the kids that play for Paris are poor kids who have no choice. They are losing their good solid athletes to other schools. I was at a basketball tournament in Paris a few years ago and they had pictures and trophies of middle school teams that had won championships and many of those kids went on to be successful athletes at other schools in surrounding counties and in Lexington.
