I was told from some guys from Clay County who I talked to in a golf outing at Crooked Creek that the freshman McDaniel was one of the best guards in the mountains and would be a future D-1 player. I haven't seen him play and they might have been overly optimistic about his ability. One of them said he was a much better guard than the Beverly kid at Perry Central. If that's true then he's going to be a dandy because Beverly was very impressive last year.

Mcdaniel is future D1 golfer. He is good but not future D1 in basketball. As for the Beverly kid, McDaniel is close to him but not a much better guard. Clay will surprise many with their guard play though as they are long and quick and very deep at the 1, 2, and 3 spots.
