I know that the former players and everyone associated with the regional titles would not say anything like "Shelby Valley won these" but that it is "Shelby Valley's rich tradition." All I am saying is that it is their achievement that feed into the "new" schools basketball tradition. If not for the great basketball programs that Virgie and Dorton had for the community, there would not really be a fertile history that has help pave the way for Valley's achievements. I really do not think that it is "Shelby Valley's" titles persay but than again it is their history that lead to these 6 recent titles. So I recognize them from a historical standpoint. I can promise you, 100%, that when "Shelby Valley and how many regional titles they have" ever comes up I ALWAYS say 6, not 14. But if anyone was to ask about Valley's or the community's extended history it is valid to say 14.

The area has that many. But, not the school.

If that were the case Johnson Central would have a ton of great accomplishments to claim as their own. With the sccuess of the older schools....Flat Gap, Oil Springs and Meade.
