Hate to say it, but, yeah, it was quite a bit weaker than usual.
Vestavia Hills, Ala. quit coming a few years ago, Rock Hill, SC & Martinsville didn't come back.
The weateher/road conditions kept some away ... Turner Ashby, Blacksburg and Galax all had state champs recently but were last-minute no shows (B'burg and Coeburn coaches brought the kids that had parental waivers signed). Sheldon Clark & McCreary Co. were also no-shows.
