I have seen Plano East from Dallas TX play several times....Most would agree that they are a top Texas School,,,and Trinity or X would do fine against them.
I coached at skill camps all around Dallas in the summers during college, and their are 3 advantages they have over us.
1. Their number of players to choose from is crazy. Most kids dont play a down of varsity ball until they are seniors. Only special soph. and Juniors letter before their senior year.
2. The age that fundamentals are taught. In Texas youth football is as big as high school football. We worked 5th and 6th graders like high school kids. Its expected from the community and supported. You dont fight basketball in Texas.
3. More quality coaches. Most high school staffs have 2-3 key coaches and a few others that don't know it, but are learning it and getting better. My experience was The Dallas area had tons of ex college football players every where and it seemed every coach was wearing some kind of Ring,,high school,,college bowl ring...

Hence the early post of population is correct...Larger population means more kids and more qualified coaches...

What we can do is increase the the expectations of our youth coaches.
