Steriod Testing for the State Playoffs?
#51
I have enjoyed reading everyone's opinion on this and appreciate each viewpoint. Here are some thoughts:

1. "Dont test due to expense" Here is a test for 70.00 http://www.craigmedical.com/Steroid_Testing.htm
Clearly, cost is not the issue.

2. Who to test? I agree that waiting to test at Playoff time limits the impact of any such program. Maybe random pre and midseason test?

3. Impact of not testing... These are the biggest reasons why we should test: Health impact to our sons; increase chance of injury to the taker and those he faces; Cheaters should not be rewarded with success; and we don't want pressure on clean athletes to put this junk in their bodies.

People will always find a way to cheat. Taxes, sports, jobs - all places where the unethical attempt to find a short cut. But in nearly every other place besides HS football their is a check and balance to audit and identify cheaters. Not having some way to find the cheaters is tainting the integrity of the game as well as encouraging others to cheat.

I hope someday this is changed.
