Steriod Testing for the State Playoffs?

jackbenimble Wrote:What needs to done is that if a kid becomes a overnight success,by that i mean gains alot of speed or a lot of muscle in a very short time, they should be tested. If they fail their parents should have to pay the bill.If it's my kid,I would surely like to know.

That would be hard to do since all kids should be developing overnight. They are maturing. They will gain incredible amounts of size, strength and speed at this age. I bench pressed 205 in 8th grade. By the beginning of 9th grade I benched 225. The next year I benched 275, then 350lbs by a junior then 365 my senior year. My senior year I lost 30lbs and still increased my bench by 15 lbs. So There is a 75lb jump fairly quickly. Steroids won't make you go up any faster. It would be hard to pin point whos on steroids based on performance. These kids are already having the side effects naturally. Oily skin, acne, mood swings, increase size, stringth and size. We also don't need to acuse kids of steroid use just because they work hard and develope. That can be damaging to the kids. They are kids.
