:Thumbs: JJ Jude did exactly what his coaches asked him to do. This is not the place to criticize a high school junior for doing everything right. There is no appropriate forum to publicly criticize a high school student by name for anything that happens on a football field.

After reading all of this, I can see 2 things standing out to me. 1st - JJ Jude should be applauded for running his but off all night. I am sure he felt the next day, had to be exhausted! This is something he will remember forever! 2nd- and probably the most important piece to all this. Coach Matney did not let this record be broke in the natural course of the game. I did not see the game, only going by accounts recalled on here. But I think it is obvious that JC was the dominate team. Someone had said the score was 49-7 at half- I am assuming this is correct? And I am also assuming that JC did not allow a running clock. This is the main problem. I have no problem in leaving Jude in the game until the final whistle- it was WoodfordCo. job to stop him not Coach Matney, but to not allow a running clock- again I am assuming by allowing score that wouldn't other wise have happened, well there is something wrong with that. Again I am just basing this on what was said on here since I did not see the game in person.

Two excellent posts. The young man did his job, plain and simple. In the real world, we are all asked to do our job, may not be what we want to do, or we may not even feel comforatable doing the job that we are asked, but bottom-line we are expected to do it at the best of our ability.

If someone wants to knock the coach, then start a new string, but the intent of this thread is to applaud the young man who accomplished what no other player in the history of Kentucky football has done.

For those who don't like it, then records is not your cup of tea. Records can only be accomplished by doing something extroidinary, and usually at the expense of others. Class, sportsmanship, that's another topic for another day and not the intent of this thread.
