The KHSAA Board of Control on Monday will start discussing the football realignment plan, which will go into effect for the 2011 season. Here are the talking points the ad hoc committee will address on the topic:
POLICY ISSUES FOR AD HOC FOOTBALL DISCUSSION
1. Schools being allowed to play up.
a. How far (if limited)
b. If schools play up, do you compensate by moving lowest school down?
2. 32 vs 16 in smallest and largest class
a. Byes in early rounds if teams drop out
3. Enrollment Adjustments / New Schools
a. Nelson County split (new school 2012 season)
b. McCracken consolidation (new school 2012 season)
4. Alignment Period
a. 2 year ?
b. 4 year ?
