That alot coming from a school who's JV lost to ER and let the East ridge varsity put 30 on them.

We sent what was more or less a freshman squad to play your JV for starters, and considering you gave up over 60 I would not boast about scoring 30. Bottom line is East Ridge is one of the worst football teams I have ever seen. Good luck next year (you will need it).

I was just replying too your statement. East Ridge is a program on the rise, it will just take time. For the record what I was told ER's JV consisted of all freshmen and sophomores. These young kids needed a good win over a quality school such as SC. It will give them confidence for when there upperclassman. Im not gonna say ER will be a quality team next season..or maybe not even the season after that, but they will one day.

I think that East Ridge has taken strides back since the departure of Eric Ratliff. The teams he coached seemed to me to be far more fundamental and more aggressive. Not taking anything away from Coach Allen , he is trying to ice skate up hill IMO. I will say that I have heard several comments about his players using dirty blocking techniques that their coach taught them. Don't know if any of the comments about blocking are true, and not saying they are, but have heard it from numerous people from numerous schools.

The first thing that needs to happen is that they need to get communitty support. When I went there there was more people in the band than people in the stands!

Did not see you play last year.
Being from Lawrence Co. the only game I wasn't able to attend.
This would only be 2nd meeting between these schools so why not play again!

Well IMO dont you think Lawrence County is just a litte better then ER. They dont need to be playing these monstrous schedules. Dont matter if its Lawrence tis year or Letcher Cetral 2 years ago, ER isnt just that calibar or a team yet. Im stating what I think is best for ER IMHO. Replace LC with someone like Betsy Layne or Magoffin County. Someone who they can play with.

I agree with the above poster about community support. I was shocked when we played over there and our fans wayyyy out numbered ER fans..... Those kids play hard and deserve to have the support the other schools have. Maybe the coach can do something during the "summer" session to get the community interested such as a community picnic or some sort of "Warrior" pride bonfire or something.... Get more fans out there boys... Get some people interested and it will be a HUGE confidence builder to look up in the stand and actually see someone besides the band...

imo getting the feeder schools envolved with the the team like have a fan secton in the bleachers

From what some of the players at ER tell me, Football games are just social events to meet with your friends. The kids just dont support the Football team. They barely support the basketball team anymore. Until Coach Allenand those boys do something major (like win district) or even eat a county rival other then Phelps, I doubt the students would care that much. Just IMHO.

Its going to be awhile before ER starts knocking off Belfry, Sheldon Clark, maybe even Pike Central.

Regardless of how good east ridge gets, I dont think they will ever be ahead of teams like Belfry(state contender ever year)
Sheldon Clark (Unbelievable tradition, better ever year)
Pike Central (great coach, up and coming team)
I think East Ridge needs to schedule some good nonconference and fight for an upset with P.C., but those days are also about gone with Coach Chapman.

Brad Allen is a heck of a coach I admire the guy and think he'll do well for himself at ER.
The two games early that will make or break his season is Grundy and Hurley.
Grundy will be loaded this year but I think if ER makes the most of the oppurtunities they get they can beat Grundy, Hurley will have some good kids but have lost there best RB and DL/OL lineman. I think they'll spank the Rebs pretty good.

That Grundy was 12-0 in the first half. That final touchdown in the final seconds could have been easily prevented. After all that ER just broke down.

Good Defense? Good Luck with that. Your losing an entire Dline, and a safety. Big shoes to fill on the defensive side of the ball.
