I think that we have been pretty successful at Shelby West Middle School, been here for 6 years and have won our conference championship every year... Our conference is made up from teams from Shelby County, Oldham County, Anderson County and Louisville Christian Academy. We run a spread offense with some different formations out of the power I, wing-t and I formations. On defense, we run a 4-3 attacking, blitzing defense with man coverage and we're trying to get into the backfield as quick as possible to disrupt and tackle for losses, were not sitting back on our heels and waiting. We have enough good athletes that we can play man press coverage and not give them enough time to throw the ball downfield.

I know it's just middle school football, but if you apply the same principles and fundamentals to high school, you still line up 11 guys and you put your best 11 guys on the field. Don't try and make it hard for the kids and in the end, you run and you tackle and that's what wins football games.

I think it will be hard for PCC to get a older coach. It is not a football school. JMO I look for a young coach to get the job. Which could be a good thing.I would like for them to get a good coach. I would like to see perry do good.

I can tell you, that PCC would be best serve to grab up a middle school coach with this type of success. Hey, you would get a coach like that at a cheaper price than someone who has had the history of winning........ at the high school level. Give someone like John a shot, reward after five years. I truly think, PCC would be stronger than ever in FIVE years! Folks, I mean STRONG, a winner, district competitiveness year after year for the championship.

If I'm thinking right David Hensley is a Harlan County Native, played at Cawood coached in Central KY (Danville Maybe?) I think his name came up before Harlan County hired Coach Larkey.

Yes he is from Cawood, and he coached at I think Dunbar. Hope they can make a decision soon.

I believe former Louisville standout Kevin Whitman will be turning in the soccer clipboard and getting together a great group of coaches to take over the job at PCC. I believe Chaney will be a great help to him and if he can get Duff and Dixon to take care of the defense for him, he will be set to run the table in their district next year with the great talent they have coming back. Whitman has showed his skills being a great assistant in basketball for many years and a great soccer coach for the last few years, it will be a big step up for him, but with his winning attitude he should be able to accomplish anything he sets his mind too. David Hensley was an asst. at Madison Central with Paul Raines. Then Head Coach at East Jessamine and Dunbar.

David Hensley would be a great hire. Hope Perry can get him. I just hope theres enough weights in the fieldhouse for him to lift when he wants to work out. He used to be a Monster. I havent saw him in a couple years.

I need to interject here. And, this may simply be a philosophy difference. However, if I take a job. I take that job to build a program and with a 5 year plan right off the bat because I believe it takes this long for you to really establish your influence after the first class of freshmen you have graduate. If you look at some of these coaches mentioned, they have bounced all around and many look to go somewhere, have a good year or two in order to go get more money or less time in the classroom, etc. I respect coaches like Kenny Roark who has spent years at the same place. Mike Halcomb who has done the same. Wayne Mills at Knox Central is a great example. I believe this is his 5th year, now he went there to build a program and has done a heck of a job. And, I guarantee you they get offers each year. I got offers during by 97 and 98 season, but I was had not completed the mission of building the program I wanted to build. Now, I did end up leaving to serve my country and I have no regrets. Then, you have these coaches that have been at the same school for years but every year they put their name out or apply in order to build leverage with the school they are out and get a better deal. If you don't want a revolving door of coaches, you better look at this. God bless each of you.

perry just needs someone that wants the school to sucess not be there a year and move on like the last two coaches, and once Browne dont do good at MC dont go hollering back for him again. He dont want to be there so why does perry always go back to him? H ell I dont think Whitman would be good but he loves pcc and he wants to see them win so him and a good staff could get that program running with a fews guy knowing the Xs and Os.

Our schools need that more than anything these days. American needs to get back to its roots....the Christian faith and principles that built this great nation. Not going to mention no names and not someone to jugde but I know wrong is wrong and I dont think its very good to be a christian and be a U-Bet on derby day with a beer in your hand.

I think they should give the job to Dougie Campbell. He is the best recruiter in Kentucky. Im sure good players would come to PCC with Dougie running the show.

That sounds interesting...Justin Haddix led the Bobcats to winning the state championship in 2002...he also had the state touchdown record with 58 in one year until it was broken. In my opinion there is just as much football talent in Perry Co as there is in Breathitt...we just need the right coach. Then maybe great players that live in Perry Co. like former Bobcat Channing Fugate will decide to go to PCC instead of traveling to Jackson. :Thumbs:
