Class 4A District 7/8 Playoff Matchups
#31
Knox should easily dispose of Boyd, MCC will get beat by LC, Rockcastle will have a tough game against Rowan (it will be close), GC and Bell will duke it out all day. Bell is not as good as everyone gives them credit for.

The only team Lawrence has a chance to beat from the 7th district is McCreary and thats not a sure thing. It's a different kind of football in Eastern Ky.

I predict that 7th district wins all of its first round games.

McCreary goes to Knox and plays a better game than the regular season and has a shot to win.

Rock goes to Bell and plays a great game but comes up short.

Knox vs. Bell, close game but bell wins.

Bell vs. Boyle I can't judge this one because I haven't seen Boyle play.

Well first I think LC is going to beat McCreary, Knox should beat Boyd but if Boyd can play like they did last week they could win. Bell should win their first game, and Rowan may be the sleeper, you don't want to underestimate them, they are explosive. I think most people want to see Bell and LC play, and they may get their wish.

Have you seen LC play this year?
#38
LC just won't get the respect because of their strength of schedule but that's fine we don't need it. The Bulldogs will earn the respect each week.
#39
That's true if you want respect you have to earn it. If LC gets to the region championship I think they'll have the respect.
#40
I don't see how people see LC not making that far, they probably haven't seen LC play this year. They are big and physical and very strong up front.
#41
Yes
#42
To most district 7 is the SEC and district 8 is conference USA.
#43
Well district 7 may be a little tougher than 8 but big deal that's why you play the game. I think LC can win their games up to the Bell game ,that one will be tough. I'm not saying they will win all the games, but they can if they play their game like they have all season. They have a great group of seniors in 15 of them, and 15 juniors. They got that taste in their mouth now how it feels to win, and they are playing as a team. Defense is very underrated, but they are the real deal.

That's why we play the games. I don't think the teams will be overlooking anyone. If they do, they'll go home early.
#45
I have to agree, anyone can beat anybody.
#46
I will have to take Bell altough I would love to see Lawrence emerge. My prediction for finals are.

Bell County-36 Lawrence County-13 in finals.

Have you seen McCreary? They are vastly overrated, the result of a week schedule. Other than a very poor Mad Southern team, MCC has not played within 4 TDs of any 4A school.

that is the truth because district 7 being the sec is the most dominate of all the districts in 4a

The state championship was 1978 not 1979.

Have you seen us play? I seriously doubt it! Our 3 losses are against the defending 4-A state champions who no one in KY has beaten in 2 years and we had more offensive yards against them that the other 2 district power houses had. The other 2 losses are from the before mentioned other 2 4-A power houses who in my opinion are both in the top 10 in 4-A but both of them play extremely difficult schedues. Knox played within seconds of beating Bell last year and Rock is a very physical football team with an extremely strong schedule and maybe the only 4-A team to have played Bell and Boyle this year and on top of that they have to play Knox and in their last regular scheduled game they play 5-A Whitley Co. Our program is not a power house but it has been on the climb for a few years now and if the kids stay dedicated to the off season workout program it will continue to get better. I guess we feel kind of like LC we don't get any respect for our accomplishments to date and probably won't get any until we beat one of the big 3 in our district so until then we will keep working hard and we will keep getting better.

To Lawrence Counties football team, coaches and fans, McCreary Co has all the respect in the world for what you have done this year and we know you are a very good football team and very dangerous (we understand how it is to be under-rated by some) and we know you will be a good football program in the future as well. Good luck this weekend we will be pulling for you to go

LC is not ready for bell this year
i would love to see the bulldogs pull a upset but i have seen both teams play and bell is about a 20 point favor in my opinion

Good post.

As said before, McCreary has one heck of a QB. He will be the best on LC has seen all season. But it will be tough to prepare for the wing T and all the weapons and take the bus ride.

Should be a dandy game between two teams having good seasons.

Bell will dismantle Greenup County. Knox and Boyd will be a physical battle and I will take the Panthers. Rockcastle and Rowan is a BIG TIME toss up.

The Rockets have definitely not seen a back like Darrell Cross, but they have traditionally excelled at defense vs. the run and the Rockets have a terrific back of their own.

Taking Rockcastle by a TD.

LC and McCreary? Not gonna give that prediction out until after the regular season is done.
#55
IMO region will be determined between Bell and Knox or Bell and MCcreary but thats just my opinion prove me wrong Bulldogs
#56
HaHa with all due respect to those teams, LC in my opinion are better than Knox, Rock, and McCreary Central. We give Bell all the respect they deserve, how come you guys don't give LC any? That's ok though, that's the difference between having class, and just being obnoxious. We leave our speaking for the field.
#57
Being in district 8 we are the Rodney Dangerfield district, we never get no respect.
#58
That's very true, I guess because LC has been down the past few years, people forgot what this program was about during the 80's and 90's and even early in 2000. But that's fine, just because we haven't won a state title I guess that means we are not worthy..

The Iceboxx Wrote:4A district 7 is very, very strong. MCC is the worst team in the district, and they have 7 wins.

Bell Co 62
Greenup co 28(GC has a very elusive back Rashard Cater, keep the eyes out for him)

Rowan Co 34(Darrell Cross is the best back in EKY, and is only a JR)
Rock 28

Lawrence Co 48
MCC 14

Knox 34
Boyd 0

---------------

2nd round

Bell Co. 55
Rowan 27

Lawrence co 14
Knox co 7

-------------

Regional Championship

Bell Co 42
Lawrence 14

I respect your opinion but NOBODY will score 28 or 27 on Bell County in the playoffs this season. Even if Bell is beaten, nobody will score 4 TD's on them.

I also fixed the underlined section.

Rock vs. Rowan can be a good game. These two teams were at the same camp I believe. I don't know if they scrimmaged or not but I am pretty sure that both teams were in Jabez, so they have seen each other.

I can't wait for the Cross vs. Rowe matchup. One of the best Sophomores and one of the best junior RB's in the East.

:yikes::lmao: I have a lot of respect for Greenup county. They always try to play hard and most of their fans have been waiting patiently for this team to improve. I believe they have improved, but to say that they will duke it out with Bell is just disrespectful to the progress that GC has made and to the power that Bell County is.

I will say this though, Bell is not as good as BELL says they are, but they are just as good as EVERYONE ELSE says they are.
