Highlands 67 - Scott 20
#31
Bardo is wearing what looks to be a pillow strapped to his elbow, leading me to believe that a) it's still causing him a fair amount of pain, and b) he's a tough kid and isn't going to let a bum wing cheat him out of the playoff run in his senior year.
I've heard nothing about Collinsworth's status. Not sure if he'll play vs. Ryle on Friday or if they'll give him the extra time to recuperate. If he doesn't play on Friday, I'm guessing that there's a chance that he'll sit out the first round playoff game. (Nope, not forgetting the 2008 first rounder vs. Bryan Station, just not expecting it to happen again.)
Scott's first-round playoff game will be interesting. They're a much more game team than most of the Eagle squads I've seen over the years and I wish them well next Friday. They deserve a taste of success.

Yes, it's saliency was undeniable. However, this guy's legs are his greatest asset. Do you feel his role will be in the backfield? If so, what do you do with Streeter and Fennell? Do you think he'll be used solely on special teams and sparingly as RB? There is no doubt that this kid can run like a gazelle and would help the Birds deep into the playoffs towards another Championship run. The question is, at what position?

Not sure, but it might be interesting to watch a practice or two between now and the playoffs.
Nah, on second thought, surprise me.

I've heard that AC had some type of fracture in his hand. This came from a niece who goes to school with him, so do not know how accurate it is. I am sure that this will not keep him out of the playoffs though!

Scott didn't bring much in the way of fans to the game, so we sat on the visitors side as we usually do if this is the case. We were only a few rows up and the Scott cheerleaders were just below us. After one Highlands score, (I think it might have been the one before the odd play on the kickoff,) the PA began playing that horrible dance tune and a couple of the cheerleaders began doing a dance to it. We thought that was funny, and when Highlands scored again a few seconds later, the girl who started the dance realized that they were going to get to dance again and clapped her hands. It was nice seeing someone on the Scott side getting some joy out of the game. (Not all of the girls looked to be enjoying it, but they all joined in on every score from then until we left at halftime.)

guess you have to cheer for someone. Could this be an institutional problem? Football team not very good plus cheerleaders cheering when the opposing team scores?:Cheerlead:eyeroll:

I noticed that too. I thought it was funny. I'm sure they meant no offense to the kids on the field.
#38
No, I don't think any offense was meant to the Scott players. The girls were just enjoying themselves, which is the point of being there anyway.

It's just that goofy song after Highlands touchdowns. It makes kids go crazy and just makes adults crazy.:Cheerlead:HitWall:

Good lord, that's the truth. :HitWall: I can see it being fun if I was a 17 year old in the student section, but if any of the guys I go to the games with start bouncing up and down, there's gonna be bloodshed.:ChairHit: (Always wanted to use that smilie.:biggrinSmile

Don't know if it's the guys you hang with, but saw a few old guys getting into it the last game. I guess it's the "if you can't beat'em join'em mentallity:igiveup:

Nah, it's the "had a few beers before the game" mentality. I could only get one of the usual crowd to go on Friday and he's got two left feet that face backward, so I know it couldn't have been us. All in good fun, but I'll probably be the guy shaking his head and wishing for a cannon blast. :eyeroll:
