Well saying,"I hope Brad and his boys take it too the Pirates", would sound like you don't like them IMO.

No, I just would like too see East Ridge beat Belfry is all. That itself would be a monstrous accomplishment for them. No disrespect meant towards Belfry or Coach Haywood at all.

I'm sure Coach would not think of this as disrespectful but wishful thinking....

Belfry will take this one, and I believe if they played Pike Central 10 times they beat PC 10times... East Ridge is putting the foundation down for their program. They took a step back last week with the way Chapman ran it up. I know Haywood is a class act, and this one may not look nearly as bad as last week for the warriors, but Belfry takes care of business early....
Keep your heads up ER you have an outstanding coach, who knows what he is doing.

Roster is wrong on a couple of the boys I know..... For example: Josh Robinson is a freshman #40 and is listed as a senior.... I can go back and look thru it and make notations he I KNOW is wrong.... IF I'm not mistaken, Belfry has 8 seniors...... T-love, C. Charles, Chancy, A.J., Tom, Zach Francis, Zach Moon (who hasn't played 1 game this year due to health issues), and John Harlow. That is it.... Actually took the time to look back at the yearbook and at the roster on KHSAA.... 8 seniors.... total....

Chase Maynard is a senior. The Belfry roster also has a Josh Robinson listed as a senior. I know for a fact Chase is a senior but I have not heard of the Robinson kid.

I have wanted to make this post for a long time so here it goes. I know the kids at ER are and always have had a hard time handleing the other old 2A now 3A schools but it is not all their fault. Several people can shoulder part of the blame. When a new school is consolidated the first two seasons they can play at the highest level of the combining school and not compete for a district. That way they can get their feet on the ground. But someone at the Board would not let ER do that so even though they won 4/5 games that first year they still got clocked by Belfry SC and Pburg.. Next even though he did a fine job the first year the coach was let go the Principal who wanted to flex his muscles. This began a parade of coaches. Davis did a fair job but the arrival of Deese killed the team. From the time they beat Phelps in thePC Bowl to the 3rd game he lost 8 2way starters and 1 offensive only starter. The first coach was brought back and did OK and Brad is doing OK but it is too late. The PROGRAM is wrecked. At the PC game I counted 26 players dressed. You cannot compete in the toughest 3A district with.that many players. I know some of you will answer build the little league etc but you cant when the kids have a negative view of football because oh the past.

Right on!! I was just going by what khsaa had. But percentage wise the teams are identical as far as youth or however you look at it. Thanks for the corrections though.

I know Josh. And #29 Cody Bevins was playing but I don't know if he quit or what, I don't see him at school but he's in the senior football players picture.

Then you have the problem the 80% of the student body of ER come from areas that never had Football{millard and FC} So it hard to find LL coachs who can coach and mommies who will let the kid play football. I know no one of today can go back and fix these problems. They can only hold their heads up and do the best they can do. My heart says ER over Belfry and I dont give a care what YOU think about it. Give'm h**l Brad and the ER boys. Some of us will aways love you.

Cody was playing but moved back to Lawrence county. I don't think he is playing ball there though..... Haven't been told he is anyway...

A school can choose to not compete in a district at the start of any realignment, you don't just have to be an upstart program. The trade off, though, is the school will not be eligible for the playoffs. Since building numbers at the HS level is the main issue at ER right now, I would not pursue that route. The key for ER is to find a coach who will be able to stay there a while and invest a lot of resources into the feeder system to start developing kids for that coach's system earlier.

Agree with this..... I think if they give this young coach at ER a chance, get him to build the program starting with the LL program, in time he will have a turnaround in the entire program. The question is, IS he willing to stay around for a while? Dedicate himself to the program even in the down years? Devote himself, time, effort, dedication to these young men who come and go? From what I'm hearing about him.... YES... I hear he is a great person, friend, and coach. I hope he can get this program on the right track from the ground up and make something of it.
