Also heard Boyle co got a block punt on Rock and scored a late TD on that turnover. The score was 42-22 Boyle Co. Just my opinion tho. Looks to me Bell Co has a better defense than Boyle Co too.
If we play the compare scores game....Boyle beat Johnson Central 49-7 with the lone score being a KR for JC. Boyle's JV played early in this one. Does this mean Boyle is much better bc Bell only beat them 36-6? Probably not...I just think it shows more evidence for why we shouldn't compare scores.

Rock played a lot better game against Boyle and played one of their worst games against Bell. I am not saying that Boyle was bad and Bell was good but I believe that you can't compare scores because of the poor execution of Rock's offense.
Not only did Bell play great defense, but Rock's offense never could get started. So to sum it up, Rock's terrible show against Bell County was 70% great defense and 30% poor execution.
After the Boyle and Bell County games, I still say that Rees McShara is the best player I have seen thus far this season. I think some small colleges would have trouble stopping him this year. He has grown LEAPS and BOUNDS from last season. Bell fans, just for a warning, don't expect the same man as last year, it will burn you if you do.
Boyle county, don't expect the same Bell County team, they are better as well and next year they will be UNSTOPPABLE! I honestly believe that NEXT YEAR'S Bell team will go undefeated and probably not even get scored on! They will be that good!

Someone mentioned sour grapes on here the other day. I think Lambert ate him a few of them.

I agree. You can't compare scores. You have two very good teams and hopefully they'll meet up in the playoffs. The better team will win. Whoever that is?

Rock's poor showing was b/c of the Bell team PERIOD! Trust me they were prepared and ready to play they just got manhandled! End of story!

Unfortunaly Boyle didn't get to meet #23 last year..Just a warning

Bell is a winning team, no doubt. I've coached against them for years at younger levels and applaud how they support the program. Right now what we know is they can't hold a light to a good TN team (Aloca) but nobody on their schedule has given them a contest. If they roll through KC this week (not by mistakes but by being better) I think they will win the region and maybe state. But I think KC has every reason to hand them their hat and may well do it.

Our scores was not that comparable other than strength of schedule which both had tough opponents. One thing for sure is that we did not overlook Bell County, because you have to believe that Bell always comes to play. But then again, who knows?
Comparing and talking in my book is always cheap,no offense to anyone but, the action on the gridiron does the talking. We just have to wait and see, no doubt numbers, stats and scores might tell a story but it does not reflect on how you win it, it's about how bad you want to win it with extreme caution no-overlooking confidence.

Boyle is not worrying about Bell and Bell is not worrying about Boyle at this point. If one of them is, they'll regret it dearly. They're two good teams "that should meet up in the semi's" but that's not guaranteed. If they do face each other the players and coaches will decide the game, not us. I'll enjoy watching these two go at it if it comes to that.

:please:
What ever!!! Boyle & Bell can settle it on the field come november if both make it that far.we dont have to ramble on we have 5 state titles.we can take a loss as well as anybody as long as the game is called fairly.

i really respect the boyle county rebels program there top notch just like us here at bell county. But hey we can't be posting topics like this Best in 4a? come on guys the state championship game will decide this! You Can not and i mean you can not afford to look ahead in this sport or it will come back to bite you. I wish best of luck to Boyle county and Bell County.

Truth is Bell would beat Boyle they wouldn't score 30+ but they would win because are defense is better and loan oak is weak they haven't played nobody barley beat a sluggish Lex Cath team but bell should be considered the best team in 4a and everybody will soon see that they are

BoyleRebel Wrote:What freshmen game are you talking about? I sincerely doubt any coaches refrained their players from shaking hands with the other team. Back to the topic though...Bell definitely should be ranked at the top as well. These polls will play out as the season continues and if they are both truly 1 & 2 then they will meet up. Both teams know there is a bunch of quality teams lining up to try and knock them off on the way. 4a is still pretty wide open at this point.the game happened 3 years ago yeah we can play with Boyle not worried about them. just dont want chalk board fodder. and yes the coaches would not let the teams shake hands per Boyle county. wait duh I'm lying lol. believe what you want but my opinion Boyle county is tacky. bell is number one and lex cath is way down this year could be a surprising year in 4a. then again maybe just a dream? lets wait till December

IMO Holmes will be hard to handle for any team. I can say this: Bell Co. and Boyle Co. has outstanding coaches and are very classy.

I think it will be a great game if they both make it... But bell is still by far the best team in 4a:1:

Next Monday Bell Co will be #1 in 4A. Boyle Co should get there first loss of the season against Lafayette who beat a 5-0 Henry Clay last week at HC. Just saying.
10-01-2009, 01:01 AM
Bell Co could had beaten Johnson Central the same. They pulled the Varsity early in that game. Boyle Co COULD NOT beat Rock as much as us. Boyle Co left there Varsity in that game til the end.
10-01-2009, 01:04 AM
Bottom line Bell Co's Defense is alot better than Boyle Co. Dont go to KHSAA and look up how many points we have given up compared to Boyle Co because of the Alcoa game will throw that out quick. Alcoa would score 42 points on any team but maybe 3 in the whole state of Kentucky. Defense wins Championships and thats why Bell Co is so good. Our offense could suck and we could still win games 7-0 or 14-7. When you have a GREAT defense you dont have to worry as much on offense.

I was just noticing Boyle Co hasnt even played a team this year that has a winning record.
5A Johnson Central 2-4
4A Rockcastle Co 2-3
1A Pikeville 2-3
5A Mercer Co 0-6
2A Danville 1-5
There records are 7 wins 21 loses combined.
When they do play someone thats good it might put them into shock.

The combined wins for the teams Bell Co has BEAT are 9. Not a huge difference in wins for their opponents. I didn't include Alcoa since Bell lost. Though, I heard Bell played really well for awhile in that game. I do think you are right though. We will be able to figure out a lot more about this Boyle County team in the next two weeks. Lafayette is going to provide a lot of difficulties for Boyle on both sides of the ball. I am interested to see how they respond. What about Knox Central? Will they be tough opponent for Bell?
