I just don't see Pikeville loosing a district game.

I think we will be ok in the district. i.m.o.

[:HitWall: QUOTE=SportsKing;758426]LCA returns alot! No shot of a regional title for the Panthers. However, they should not see much competition until that game. Hazard loses everything.[/QUOTE]

Shelby Valley is trying to get into 1A, and if that happens, Pikeville and S.V. would more than likely have to play each other for district.Never gonna happen. Even if it does SV will just be district runner up to us instead of P-burg every year.

How many years in a row now has Pikeville went undefeated in District?

If they can get by Paintsville, which is not a given...

Paintsville has one win over Pikeville since 1984...South Floyd beat Pikeville when Mayo was coach...I have no knowledge of any losses to Besty Layne, Allen Central, or Phelps...

The talent pool is just not there and if people don't see it, then they are looking through maroon colored glasses. That is a fact that you can't dispute. You can try but you won't be able to. This season will be the best year for at least the next 5-6 years. They can't pull kids in anymore, in fact they keep losing kids of all ages to other schools.I just gotta ask a ? Just so happened I was going through a Pikeville thread from back in December and you posted numerous times about how talented Pikeville is from the LL and JR high levels all the way up to Varsity level. Why the change of heart in the last few months? Copely and Roberts didnt take any of the talent with them when they left. What kids have they lost to other schools?

He concluded that for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with coaching, you just can't win at Pikeville. But he has moved on and is hanging out on the SV threads...

Pikeville has a great group of Fresmen coming in as Soph's and an experienced line coming in, I believe that will make for a great season THIS YEAR! The next few years will be tougher because of the lack of linemen. Now when you get down into the 5th grade and below, there is alot of talent if they stick together.
"Hail Pikeville" I don't recall anywhere as saying how talented Pikeville is in the JR high level or all the way through the varsity. Maybe I did and don't recall or you could be making things up.

Not hanging out, just curious who they will hire for their next head coach. It seems as though several Pikeville supporters are "hanging out" on SV threads as of late. I had 6 post, Hail Pikeville had 8 post, Big Five-0 had too many to count, Jetpilot even had a post or two. :moon:

Seems to me if ya don't have a head coach by now, you are in for a time.

I root for SV in football, they have the athletes to take their program to the next level. I just would rather play a Corbin or similar team in the non-district games...my take is really as simple as that.

Too many to count? Who's keeping count??

I dont make things up on here pal! You may not like my opinions on here but I dont just pull them out of the air. All I did was ask you a question but instead of answering it you gave the standard congress answer of " I dont recall the statement in question". Now that Ive gave you the link to read Im sure youll pull a "Mark Mcguire" and wont want to talk about the past. LOL!

Alot of people have been reading in the SV thread to see who might be their next head coach. I was just showing "jetpilot" that many have been "hanging out" on that thread.
As for your buddy, I'm not sure if he's ready to be the HC, just yet. He hasn't had enough experience in my opinion. I do know he is an asst. up there at the moment.

Pikeville did play S.V. in the mid 90's & beat them . Left no dought who the better team was. This was during Hillard Howard's last coaching job here. By the way that game was played here at Hambley Complex.

pikevill has tradtion and a pretty good pool to chose from and they had quality wins thru the years but they do have a cupcake district but that is not their fault
06-09-2009, 06:25 PM
They need to get back to what they was, and coach howard will do that.
