Eric Ratliff isn't a principal at this time.....Does anyone know anything about him def?
05-29-2009, 12:57 PM
I was told Eric Ratliff is the front runner.

At this point everything is rumored but from what I am hearing it will not be an inside hire.
05-29-2009, 01:13 PM
Has he not been offered a principal job at Pike Central?
05-29-2009, 02:21 PM
Just-released info has Gretna with 651 students in grades 9-12, which is very close to the numbers for Sheldon Clark, Russell, Magoffin Co., Morgan Co., and, ironically, SV.

Someone mentioned the school Saunders is going to is a big school, this poster was showing how it's really not that big.

Oh--ok...Can anyone find out info on Eric Ratliff? Has he been offered a Principal position or is he for sure going to come to SV as head football coach?

The last conversation I had with the man himself at East Ridge the other day, is he is going to be an asst. principal at pike central/the new mullins school and and asst football coach at PC.

Thanks Man...we got this news today...not official..but that is what we are hearing that it is part of the deal with Josh Whitaker and his dad coming this way...that E. Ratliff will be teaching at SV and HC. If you hear anything different please let us know....

How can anyone be hired when interviews have not even been conducted yet?

SV is allegedly making a decision about their football program based on what a B-ball player and his father wants? Boy they really care about their football up there on "Planet Virgie" dont they? I hope the football parents and players see this for what it is: A farce. They dont care about football up there and they never will.

If this all plays out I guess that validates what we have always believed.....
You are correct, I wanted to get out of coaching as an assistant under Saunders. I still haven't decided to throw my hat in the race. From what I hear, the players and SVfan#5 don't want me. I am going to talk to some people close to me and then decide. Ever who does get this job has some EXCELLENT Players coming back. Whomever it is should do well. There is also some great young talent in the middle school. If the right person is hired, I may even consider being assistant again.
SportsKing Wrote:CoachB, didn't you make the statement that you wanted to get out of coaching? So are you not planning to get involved at SV, since you havn't applied for the job yet?

Just wondering, can a school just dream up a teaching position and use tax payers money to pay a teacher that just coaches? I guess people just don't object and sit back and say nothing. Independent schools are monitored a little more closely---I think!!!!!!!!

Like I said it is RUMORS...but what I am hearing they are moving people out left and right to make room for the folks that meet the needs of their plans....No matter what we say it is probably the "Good Ole Boys" club...I hear they have "teaching" plans for these people...oh I am sure they will move folks around wherever they want if it betters the bball program...Who knows ---maybe they fear the fball program actually getting too much media this season...wouldn't wanna leave the bball program in the shadow...for not one second...Why does it have to be that way??? So many of these young men play both and more would if it wasn't like that...

True they might not care about football as much as basketball but with what small support they have had. I would think they would have been a 12 point favoritte if they could get a game with PIKEVILLE but for some reason Saunders could not get a game with PIKEVILLE.

As a parent I hope they consider that Roberts came in and hit the ground running as assistant coach and through all of this he has never said if I am not HC or if so and so is coach I will leave..all of that drama...Instead...he has kept the program going non-stop. The boys are now accustomed to having him around, they respect him and I feel like he will be here to see his kids through High School which is 10- 14 more years...IF the POWERS that BE would for once think of the program and the well being of the team they would consider promoting him as Head Coach and allowing him to recommend assistant coaches that would nurture the needs of the program....I do not know him personally...nor do I remember his playing accomplishments in the past...but giving him credit where credit is due....HE DESERVES THIS POSITION...!!!!!

They didn't want to schedule SV because of the fear of getting beat, plain and simple. HailPikeville knows this to be true, but would never admit it though. I would like to place bets with anyone, that after this year(when SV loses 15-16 players to graduation) Pikeville's new coach will try to add SV to it's schedule. Any takers?

I'm pretty sure it's not many that play both. Maybe 1 or 2.

Threads never stay on track, and I think it's getting quite old with people trying to point out when they go off.

There are alot of Football parents from 2nd grade - 12th grade.

Don't think many on this thread would take that bet.

In that earlier post, I told someone some background information about Eric. I didn't say that I wanted him to be HC. Don't play with my words. Anthony and Michael are good people too. I coached both of them.
