0-4 Then Win 6

Pikeville may win 6 in a row , just not the last 6.

Why would it be a no win situation to play SV? It is a good rivalry in basketball even though SV has owned the games as of late. Why not football? I think it would be good for Ben to make his mark by scheduling a team that would bring in a great crowd and just a few miles down the road.

Because Pikeville is afraid it wil be a "no" win against Shelby.

What do you mean by ''NO'' win for Shelby Valley?

Why not play SV if it is a sure win? I do not understand the no win situation quote. Put adult pride to the side and let the kids play. Pikeville would be the favorite but not by much. Guaranteed packed house at either place.

AGAINST SV..means SV could just as well win ...Pikeville still lives in the 80's..they are trying to keep a powerhouse reputation although its been almost 20 years since their last title...mystique is long gone

Not to people who know anything about football. Pretty sure the trophy cases are full to the brim at PHS. Go look at all of them sometime and hope you can grow up to be like that.

It's not that we still live in the 80's, it's just something to be very proud of. Any school that's accomplished what Pikeville has done would like to repeat those honors again. Oh by the way, that mystique will always be there!! GO PANTHERS!!

Trophies have nothing to do with playing SV. As far as growing up to be like that...... to each his own. I personally think most in Pike County would like to grow up and play football for Belfry after what they have done recently. Still would like to see a SV/Pikeville this year.

Why wouldn't Pikeville play SV? I still do not understand. Are you saying they above playing SV? Listen I respect what Pikeville has accomplished over the years but not to the point where they are too good to play SV. It is just a game.

It is just a game.It would take a spot of the non-district from playing a really good team, is one reason.

Holy Cross was 4-8 last year, not a really good team. P-burg beat SV last year on a hail mary. Not saying SV is great but I think Pikeville is not great right now either. After a few transfers they may get back to being great but not now. Ben will do a good job.

^^Until SV and Pike Central get ONE decent win, they need to be quiet about Pikeville. Concentrate on just being a decent team. Pikeville should be the farthest thing from their minds...

Pikeville is currently decent and has been for awhile. They play in a watered down class A and get guaranteed 4 or 5 wins per year and a yearly trip to the quarter or semi-finals. SV is currently decent also.

Instead of worrying about what transfers they can get- Pikeillve should be working with what they already have.

Again, quit worrying about Pikeville. I know Pikeville is on your mind way too much...you need to worry about SV picking up the first decent win in school history.:please:

Lets get back on topic and talk about the teams Pikeville WILL be playing as opposed to who they arent going to waste their time on.
05-04-2009, 10:05 PM
yea lets not talk about wasting time onteams so I will now go to the basketball section where there is only one champ crowned a year.Good luck Ben and Mac.

Pikeville should worry about getting a decent win as well...Don't recall a decent win last year..they should worry about becoming a decent team as well....Pikeville IS the farthest thing from their mind because (a) they just aren't important anymore and (b) They are afraid to play either team !

Honest schedule for a team on the ropes. They got good things on the way. Pikeville likes to win as much as any top program. They and there supporters have never lost that hunger. Sometimes even a giant sleeps. Now its awake again and a little groggy. Give the barrells time to age and you are going to get a smooth batch of whoop _ _ _!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
