losing big campbell and olinger will hurt them, but i say they still be pretty tough

Losing Campbell with make hurt on 3rd and long. Also losing Olinger will kill the threat of the deep ball. Hazard should be ok at QB. Jon Combs throws a pretty accurate ball from within 20 yards.

Meehan is back at Hazard. This should help the football team and give the QB a nice big target on 3rd downs to replace Campbell.
Schedule is going to be tuff but it paid off last season. Should be able to get to the semi finals. Will be hard to beat LCA at LCA as they will be loaded.

i agree. It will be hard to beat LCA at LCA, But i think ole Raceland or Williamsburg will pull a rabbit out of the hat and stunt them.

Hazard schedule wasnt hard last year. The two teams that was anygood beat them, the other games was easy or should be easy wins. The schedule this year will be a test to go over 500 on the season.

You'd be losing that farm to, if Hazard didnt back out of playing PCC for there "safety"

Heard Fugate was leaving Hazard, any truth to this? Is Meehan back at Hazard yet? Is Blanton going to be eligible this year. I heard he may be too old to play this season.

I would lay money it as well. Who has Perry got to throw too and run the ball besides the QB. They got talent dont get me wrong but no one step up on the offensive side of the ball for them. Hazard will have many weapons as of last year. But will not have the deep threat bomb in olinger but a more accurate passer with Jon Combs and a more stronger runningback in mikael campbell and two if not 3 excellent recievers in Meehan, Eric back, Zach Blanton, and bj combs. I myself think that alone besides a senior offensive line would be too much for Perry to handle.

Nope fugate isnt leaving. Meehan is back at hazard and i confirmed it with my cousin and Blanton is going to be challenging the rulling for his eligibility to play next year which i think the kid will get to play.

Hazard had to have a hail marry to beat Perry last year and they lost ALOT. I could see Perry winning by 2-3 tds, if they were to play.

Yea a Hazard team that wasnt even healthy and never had all its players. But there isnt any excuses. PCC shot themselves in the foot in the game by taking that sack on 4th down to set up the winning drive for that game. The offense got the credit for the win but it was the defense for hazard that didnt even get no recognition for that last series.

No excuses for last years game. I just think Perry would beat them if they were to play this year bc Hazard is losing alot.

Yes they are losing a lot but when you have more seniors on this years team and everyone of them have more pride than last years seniors then you know you have something special.

Get over it. Hazard DID beat Perry last year. We will reload and be ready again this year. 2 - 3 touchdowns- :lmao:

How can you say enexperienced! They will have a senior offensive line. Pratically everyone thats a senior started there freshmen year. The only exexperice will be the Qb and the exception of 1 or 2 guys playing reciever. The QB played great in the absense of tyler olinger last year. He was 31 of 41 for 448 yards 7 touchdowns and 1 INT. Thats pretty decent numbers for a back up. At Running back you will have mikael campbell who average 9 yards a carry who will finally get his time to shine on the offensive side of the ball. Also having Meehan and transfer eric back to the recieving core it makes them have2 excellent recievers to go with 2 more good recievers in bj combs and zach blanton. And on the defensive side of the ball the only thing Hazard has to replace is a defensive end, a lineback and a safety which i am sure they will have no problem replacing either with the talent they have coming back. The only thing Hazard is lacking as of right now because its the off-season is for those seniors to show they want it like last year did during the playoffs. My opinion is these seniors will be more hungry about winning a state title than than last years team.

Hazard is well coached, well supported, and tough! I think they are going to suprize all the nay-sayer's. IMO they can make it as far as they did this past season if the cards fall right.

Hazard is lucky i aint on D or id crack them in there egg shaped head of theirs

Sounds like someone is jealous and a copy cat from the longest yard as well. I also got to say if you know anything about football then you would know that Hazard is one of the winningest football programs in the state. They arent # 1 but they are in the top 10 im sure of if I can remember correctly. So Tradition gets a nice field such as that not just 1 state title apperance.

Actually they got the turf before the state championship appearance. And I don't think making it to the state finals is something to thumb your nose at. How many schools in EKY , or across the state for that matter have never made it. The people who support the school had the forethought to give the kids good facilities because they believed they were capable of making it to the finals, not just last year but several more times. If you want turf, get out and drum up donations, that's what they did.

i want to see hazard and green county play again!

Allen Fugate-top 5 linemen in the state

I dont think they will be as good as last season but should be ok.

Leave it to Hazard. Meehan comes back, shouldn't be eligible, but will be. Blanton's birthday is in July, but they'll probably get him eligible too. Basketball has a team full of players that are transfers. Sounds alot like Lexington Christian. ANYTHING to win.

Hazard will be rebuilding this year, and if it werent for there "safety", Perry would beat them easily this year.
03-16-2009, 04:36 PM
Perry wouldnt of even came close to Hazard if Big Mike and Kid would of played. If Meehan was still at HHS and Back was playing it would of been about 35 to 0. PCC "ALMOST" beat a beatup Hazard team.

Big Mike shouldn't have played all year. Straight outta jail, to the field.

i agree with this 100%. He was given a 2nd chance and it payed off and when he quit the basketball team that was the end of it because to me that 2nd chance rolled over to basketball as well.
Meehan should be eligible. Had no problem getting eligible for LCA so why not Hazard. And the Blanton deal he shouldnt be punished for not being able to play his senior year because his former school he transferred from made him stay back. Its bad enough he doesnt get to graduate with his senior class and get his start in college but has too suffer with one more year of high school when he could be getting his life started.
