Those three "ref's" that officiated the JC game last night are JC's usual crew.

LC can whine all they want about the officials but here is the real deal. With 2:10 left in the game, LC had the lead and on two straight trips they had turnovers (not called by the official) but terrible passes. JC capitalized on the turnovers and won the game by hitting free throws and not allowing Skaggs to touch the ball in the final 2 minutes of the game. So, you can whine all night about officials but learn to seal the deal when you have the lead and you will win the big ballgames.

Now back to the game. Why is it everytime that a team from Lawrence gets defeated it's always the officials fault? In my opinion late turnovers and very poor free throw shooting doomed Lawrence County. Johnson Central's effort on defense last night was pathetic. That's about as plain as I can put it. How many wide open three's and dribble drive baskets with no help defense does a team have to make before something is done about the defense? Great job by Tanner Bratton last night in the four minutes that he played. He came in with some grit/heart and played good defense and rebounded the basketball.

LC came in and played hard and hit threes and JC played bad with no defense. When JC finally decided to play in the last few minutes they turned this game around quick, but then relaxed and let LC back in for while. Alot of LC tunrovers late in the game were fro JC's turning the pressure.

The officating was about par and as good as you are going get, but it went both ways. I am a JC fan and thought we got as many bad calls. Most of the fouls were called because of poor defense and being out of position. The reason LC had more fouls is JC was a step quicker or was in position. If either team continues to play like they did last night, they may not even make it out of the 57th much less the region.

Refs sucked. All one sided. Windell the older ref the worst of the bunch graduated from JC like 100 years ago and shouldnt be allowed to ref their games. The game film was sent to KHSAA for review.

Reviewed for what? Because you got beat. When you live out beyond the 3 point line, you don't get fouled. Remember that when looking at the foul shot numbers. If you drive the ball to the hole then you get fouled and shoot free throws. How could anyone complain about the officials as bas as LC shot free throws. One young man missed 6 in role if I am not mistaken.

My only real question about the reffing was when the Welch kid tried to do a chin-up using the rim.

How do you call NOTHING when a kid clearly goes up, grabs the rim with one hand and pulls himself up and then tries to dunk it with the other???

Sadly, the ref comes over to the LC Coach and says, "I didn't feel the kid was showboating, that's why I didn't call a T". WHAT????? It's a T, plain and simple!

The ref is not from JC and the calls went both ways and better defense from both teams will cure alot of the foul problems, not the refs. I heard the same compliant from the refs at the games that have been played at LC. Just ask the Paintsvile fans. Do not hold your breath with the KHSAA. LC and JC should face for round three in the district on SC 's court when it really counts. This was a very sloppy played game and they are hard to call.

I never said it affected the game. :confused: I am just trying to figure out why a ref doesn't call a T when the kid CLEARLY grabs the rim with one hand in order to try and complete the dunk. :Thumbs:

I clearly seen about 3 more technicals that could have been called. The hanging on the rim, LC guard stomping away from a play when a foul was called on him (clearly showing up an official) and the slamming of the ball after a foul call. There are 3 incidents in which the official clearly could have busted the players with technicals.

So why not make the call??? Just strange to me, you want to be shown respect as a ref, then make the call. Show the kids who is in control. Seems that some non-calls like that are in fear of having a adverse affect on the games outcome and not wanting to take that responsibility.

I think they let these kids get away with way too much attitude and it takes away from the game and the players on the floor get caught up in the reffing instead of playing the game.

It is not a T to slap the backboard if you are going for the ball. If a shot is shot on lets say the left side of the goal and a player on the right side jumps up and slaps the right side of the board to get the shot to miss, that is a T. If the player was going for the ball, the T shouldnt be called. How about instead of everyone complaining about the refs, half that is on here go get their officials license. That would give a bunch of quality officials in this region instead of not having enough to go around.

Bud, this as well as JC is gonna play. It's not been to much different all season. Winning ballgames against teams such as Boyd, AC and the likes doesn't make JC great, Stop kidding yourself. You apparently have been around the game long enough to know this. Any DECENT team is gonna give them problems. There are not going to be any miracles happen in the last days....... As long as their coach allows the selfish play, lazy play, and allow a player to continue playing for some reason ???? after throwing up 4 [B]airballs[/B] and comitting at least that many turnovers this is as good as its gonna be !!! Fact.... JC is playing SLOPPY and ALLOWED TO. FACT..... JC won this game only because LC couldn't finish. FACT.......NEITHER team at this rate is going to represent the 57th at region very well. WHY would any team LAY BACK and LOSE ???? Funny.
