Apple Bowl 2005
#31
I think Matney and the Eagles will win this one again.

Johnson Central isn't the same team they usually are, they are much better then they have been in the recent years.

If I'm not mistaken Blume is close to leading the state in rushing right now. JC is to big, strong, and fast for Paintsville.

JC - 43
P-ville - 10

Too early to bring this one out, both teams have 2 games ahead of them before this game should be even considered. All I think is it'll be closer than last year and the winner is too close to call.
#34
I'm going with Johnson Central

You played the 7th grade last year and you'll play the 7th grade on the 20th as well. How come you won't play the 8th grade during the regular season? Granted you did defeat the 7th grade team bad but don't get on here and brag about beating the "middle" when you didn't play our 8th grade team nor will you play them in the future and we both understand why you won't play the 8th grade team. Once again nice job on the win last year against the 7th grade team.

Agreed Mojo it's way to early to be talking about the Apple Bowl. I know for a fact JC is focusing on Lawrence this week and playing at Boyd next week and I'm sure Paintsville is also taking it one week at a time as they prepare to travel to Betsy Layne this week and host Phelps next week.

I hear what your saying, but I don't think Paintsville has a choice in this decision. I'm pretty sure that the conference is now broken up into divisions and Paintsville is in the same division as JC's 7th and JC's 8th is in another division. I think that's why it's like this now, but not 100% positive. But I agree, it's irrelevant that these comments are made, it has no affect on the varsity game, and it is the 7th grade team.

You're correct about Paintsville being in the same division as Johnson County's 7th but a team can still schedule someone that's in another division of the Sandy Valley conference.

I know Pville has alot returning, they won't have 21 starters returning like they should have because of reasons we wont discuss, but they do return a great core of players. JC returns a good heaping of their line-up, they did lose a couple key players, BUT, they got alot of kids that didn't play last year that should have been playing coming out this season, from what I have heard anyways. Paintsville has been working pretty hard in the weightroom, as is JC I would assume, those who aren't in the weightroom are wrestling so either way they are going the right route. This years Apple Bowl should be one to remember, I think we may see one of the greatest in Apple Bowl history in 2005.

Paintsville by 6

I agree with ya but I will take the Eagles by 14...Ill put money on it if youd like..lol

Good luck to both teams, we here from Ol' Magoffin will be cheering from the stands or sitting the stand at some OTHER game listening on the little radio.

last year Paintsville only had 1 senior, and they weren't really even good, this year they return many 4 and 3 year starters, it just won't happen this year, wait and see

they'll be a totally diffrent football team from last year

I Agree; because JC will go in with the big head and Paintsville is a tuffer team than everyone thinks, I think that Paintsville will give JC a run for there money and pull away. 36-30

Why in the world would JC go into the game with the big head. Last year was the first year we had one the apple bowl in 3 years. They know that Paintsville will come out pumped up and they know they will have to be on top of there game or PVille will win...

I can guarantee you that JC will not come into this game with the "big head".

I will take Johnson Central in a closer game than the final score.

Johnson Central 42
Paintsville 22
#48
I'll take Paintsville by a touchdown..for now. Johnson Central has only played one good team, which is South Laurel. Johnson central cant stop the pass from what i have seen, they have a very weak secondary. I think Pugh will pick apart that secondary.

Still to early. Paintsville has Phelps at home and Johnson Central plays Boyd next week.

Well if Paintsville can even keep it close against JC.. They may be able to beat Pikeville IMO.. But in all reality will the Tigers have a answer for blume left, blume right.
#52
Blume is a tough back, thats for sure.
#53
I was thinking, besides the Apple Bowl, I would like to have a apple pie from McDonals. Besides that, I really dont know who will win this year.

Thank you and I'll probably be there.

i am going with j.c. by 2 touchdown
#56
From what I hear the Eagles may have their talons full with the Tigers.
#57
I'll be rooting for PHS. I think PHS's downfall will be the competition that they have played so far. JCHS has played much better teams and it will pay off for them in the end.

PHS will score a bunch, but can they stop the JCHS machine?????????????

JCHS-56
PHS-42
#58
Central big in this one
#59
Hmm, im going to have to change my mind at this point.... i didnt think that JCHS would be as tough as they are, paintsville is good this year, but not quiet as good as what i had thought them to be back in febuary....so i say eagles take this by 20 points
#60
Johson central will win this but id say it will be close
