Well then....
Can a team that lost in the semifinals have the MVP? How many players can get the coveted 'all district' trophy per district?
Maybe their will be a newly created "SHOT HIS ARM OFF" trophy. (see below)

LCC played with focus, desire, and purpose. Game was dictated by LCC pace on offense and defense. S. Hall and Collins of JBS played great defense. Lack of offensive flow kept JBS from any rythym. FT's made by LCC and not by JBS. The decision by J. Stepp to have Clark shoot T FT's instead of Cox is hard to grasp.
Banks handled pressure well. Proffitt the usual big time shots. Blair with Ft's down the stretch. Longworth and Ison with good defense.
Sportsmanship after the game was a sight to see by both. All 3 games this year were battles.
Third time was charm. LCC has been on the uptick since Jan.
Cordia has been as well. Championship game to watch.
Good luck to both!

Congrats LCC. They outplayed JBS, got the win, chance to win the district, and get to go to the region. Congrats Cougars.

I thought that tournament MVPs always went to the team that won the championship. I can't recall anyone winning the honor and lost in the tournament.

Congrats to Clark Stepp on a wonderful career and all the other seniors at JBS on some nice seasons they have put together in Pippa Passi!!!

I agree!
Cox should have been shooting those shots!

I agree. A foul should have been called. It wouldnt have made a 12 point difference, and by looking at Clarks freethrow percentage, he wouldnt have made them anyways, but, to be fair, it should have been called.
A video of them pushing him on the floor is on http://www.wkyt.com . go to wymt sports and watch the wednesday night video.
Congrats LCC. You earned it, you had heart, and you showed it!

A big congrats to LCC. JBS has had a good season, things just didn't work out for them. I didn't get to attend the game but got to listen to the last half, It sounded like LCC just laid one on JBS. I'm no fan of JBS, but I know those kids and they are good kids. I'd like to wish Clark, Trey and any other seniors the very best for a bright future. You'll miss high school, but your life is just beginning, so go out there and live it to the fullest. GOD bless.

Yeah he did shove him, but it wasn't as bad as Clark Steppe made it look. As usual, he flopped to the ground and immediately jumped to his feet crying and complaining about no foul being called.

For all the boys and girls teams, 3 players from each team will be selected to the All District team. These are for games that were played in the regular season. There will be no MVP and the tournament has nothing to do with it.

I can assure you, JOBAKKA is no KCC fan. Your detective work is nowhere near Columbo's. Seriously, how did you figure that he was a KCC fan. Have you ever seen another JOBAKKA post?

JBs is not known for thier basketball prowess and now thier detective work seems as bad as thier basketball. I have seen JBS lose three times in big games and the sportsmanship from these three gamnes is what I based my thoughts on. THE WORST ACT OF SPORTSMANSHIP I HAVE EVER SEEN IN 40 YEARS OF BASKETBALL WERE IN THESE THREE GAMES AFTER THE WERE OVER BY ONE PLAYER, THROWING JERSEY AND RUNNING OFF FLOOR BEFORE HANDSHAKES, REFUSING TO CONGRATLATE HAZARD AFTER aLL A LOSS LAST YEAR AND TURNING BACK DURING TROPHY PRESENTATION. RUNNING AND SCREAMING AT THE END OF LAST YEAR DISTRICT FINAL. I based my thought on history. So for once there was a modem of sportsmanship, I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I watched the video on WYMT where Clark falls into LCC's bench several times and to me it looks like he just slides off the bodies and onto the floor.

Please, you along with everyone else around this program take a break from thinking and talking about INDIVIDUAL AWARDS, this is a TEAM SPORT!!!!! isnt it????I don't think ARC is around this program.

I was sitting right behind the LCC bench, and #15 threw him off onto the ground. When Clark started to retaliate, Charlie Banks came over to him and gave him an earfull. Clark calmed down real fast!!

Granted, I am not a JBS fan, but I do hate to see a group of young men who had wonderful potential fall short in their attempt to display their expertise because they didn't have the leadership to take them there. I also know these young men, particularly the seniors on the team, are now hurting because they are beginning to realize they have competed in their last high school game and their season ended well below their expectations. Hopefully, this experience has taught them something positive that they can take with them well into their future...don't look out for number one so much as looking out for the team. A group pulling together can usually progress much farther than an individual pulling alone!
Good luck to the crusaders in their futures!
excelent post. it is a shame the way some of the kids have been treated at jbs. I feel so bad for them. There is only one place that the blame for this horrible misfortune can be placed. I hope the coaching staff at jbs are very happy with themselves today. They have ruined something that was bound for greatness, with nothing but selfishness. I like many would love to know what this team could have done if they were coached by a well experienced coach with no family influence. I would wager that the one individual senior that they were so concerned with might not have had these unbelievable stats but would have had a much brighter looking college basketball future, and the future of jbs basketball would be as good as ever. Unfortunately i think we have the exact opposite.

What a shame that some people use this free public forum for spouting their unbelievable hatred for one little mountain school, its team and star player. I've never seen such celebrating- not because LCC won, but because JBS lost! Choogler and Jobakka seem joined at the hip; or, at least it seems they've made a pact with each other (and possibly the devil) to be as hateful and cruel toward the above mentioned as possible. "We've got 'em down," they say, "now let's stomp them." Others are joining in the party and I can't, for the life of me, understand how they get by with it in the first place and why such pleasure could be derived from it in the second place. You would think that they were all thoughtless kids, but I noticed that one of them referred to his son. Hopefully, his children will decide not to let such mean attitudes ruin their lives too. I am from western Kentucky and have known for years about such illustrious mountain programs as Hazard, Pikeville, and Paintsville, but I never heard of that little school before these people (Stepps) came along. Regardless of what they've done right or wrong, who can deny that they have succeeded with their basketball program in the last few years and who can deny that Clark Stepp has played a big role in that success. I wish for the young man the very best in life and I want to thank some other BGR members for doing the same, or at least for making proper and positive comments. Thanks globetrotter12, Playboys, Gator, divadawg, MVP2, Sassy, Pink Flamingo, and Hondaman.

I just dont understand how they lost. I mean they do have the biggest player in KY on their team. The chances of LCC winning this was probably like 20% but they did. This should show the Stepps that its more important for your team to play as a TEAM and not a 2 STEPP show. Who am I kidding, nothing will change at JBS. Congrats Letcher.
