First of all... a good shooter should keep shooting if he is off, eventually they will fall. But Clint kept shooting bad shots. Those will never fall consistently.
Clark is just flat out not as good as advertised. He isn't quick enough to go by good defenders and he struggles terrible from the three point line.
Garrison Collins could have dominated this game, but the Stepps wont utilize him like they should. It is like they don't want him to score...
Tate Cox is the best player in the region and probably touches the ball the least of all the starters.
I have heard all the stuff about the Stepps only caring about Clark and Clint's stats. But tonight I got to see it first hand.
I wasn't there so I'll take your word for it! I guess they learned that there is no "I" in TEAM tonight. Anyway, congrats to LCC on a great game!

Nice win for LCC!!

Congrats to JBS on a good season! Hate to see teams fall short, but that is what happens this time of year if you don't come to play every game! This is one and done time!

Congrats LCC on a huge 14th region upset!!! I thought LCC had been playing good of late and I knew they would be a tough out for someone --- and they still will be!
JBS was never really the same team after T. Cox went down with a knee injury. IMO they struggled from that point on the rest of the season. They never regained their stride. Congrats to Clark Stepp on an outstanding career and best of luck in the future.

Rather than calling it an upset I call it a lack of respect for Letcher Central. They have been playing on the same level as Hazard, JBS, and Cordia for a while now but was never considered a threat in the region. Hopefully now people will wake up and see that they have just as much of a chance as anybody. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS LCC!!!! Congratulations to JBS too. I don't know their senior players personally but they have really worked hard to turn JBS into an outstanding basketball program over there so they need to be commended as well. To see the sportsmanship exhibited at the end of the game between the two teams and the fans makes me proud to be a 53rd district fan. Good luck Saturday LCC!

I'm not surprised by this at all. Hazard played Letcher Central a couple of weeks ago at Memorial Gym. Hazard won 54-48 in OT. I saw then that LCC was playing some good ball and was a force to be reckoned with. Congrats LCC!!!

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Oh, Oh, Oh This Is Great!!! Uk96, What Happened To Your Team???

Congrats, Letcher! JBS has really struggled as of late, but as much blame as some will putt on JBS and the Stepps, you should also congratulate the Cougar players and staff. Great game, LCC. Good luck this weekend!
Wow , just got back from the UK game and had to post right away. my son kept me updated throughout the game and wow was I excited. Now where are all the JBS fans who recently said if they lost they would be here. Just as I figured they won't be back. I predicted in response to a Crusader faithful talking smack about playing in Rupp, that the only trip to Rupp for JBS this year would be as spectators. I stand by my prediction.

Congrats on the W!
However I did see on Sports Overtime that a kid absolutely pushed Clark down to the ground, and no foul was called. That was ridiculous!

It is going to be hard to imagine seeing JBs w/out Clark next year since he has played there for 43 years, lol....But Congrats LCC on a great win, but the prize hasn't been dealt yet. Halfway there! And on a side note, to a player who has recieved more smack than any other player in the history of basketball at any level, Clark Stepp, congrats on a fine career and best of luck in the future! Now Central, go beat Cordia!

Congrats LCC....June Buchanan just fell apart late in the season....i think when cox got hurt it really hurt the team and when he came back he just wasnt going full steam it looked like....still a good year for them....

No, it didnt make a 12 point differnce but it was pretty cheap. I wasnt at the game but also seen tis on SO. Looked like Stepp was trying to save the ball or something and went into the LCC bench. LCC players pushed him when he did this? Just what it looked like to me.
02-28-2008, 04:40 AM
yeah it would have taken him 35 free throws to make up the 12 point difference ....but a huge congrats to LCC..me and Playboy were talking before the game, that this would NOT be an upset. LCC should have won the two regular season games before this one, and will give Hazard everything they can handle in the 14th..great job Cougars!

Superior coaching by Coach Justice and staff defeats superior talent.

Wow... i don't know if i'm Happy for LCC or Sad for JBS... i Hate JBS but for some reason i kinda feel bad for them in a way! JBS is simply not the team they were earlier in the season. The reason ... i have no clue... but this WAS a regional team.. and still the best team in the region! Don't lie to yourselves.. you know it too

If you ask me, the way the LCC bench pushed Clark off them was completely ridiculous. And I agree that the foul would not have changed the 12 point difference, but stuff like that happened all night long. Don't get me wrong though, LCC did play their hearts out and did deserve this game, but some things I did not agree with.

Clark had one assist, guess that brings his total to 1,001.

Here's to jbs enjoying the broadcast of LCC vs Cordia later this week!
Here's the question now....which jbs player will make the all district team? Sounds like it would be a hard choice.:o
They will get three on the All-District team. my guess is clark, tate, & garrison.

Wow. Congrats LCC.

The player in question on this forum all the time is 18 or 19...19 I believe. A man. He was held back and is older....let him take it like a man. He sure can dish the smack out himself.

I guess nomercy's connection is down, or maybe he and the other JBS faithful are figuring out how to get Clark transferred to another school thats still in it to add some more points and assists.
