JBS played good team ball tonight and when they do that it is going to be hard for anyone to beat them...
#33
They were 41 points ahead and the crowd was yelling to the coach he had no class. That is when they were pulled.........
#34
Anyone that knows the Stepps understood that was not why the starters were pulled at that suggested time. The fans are not an influence on them in their method of coaching world. JBS was able to let some players get some exposure on TV . Some of the earlier substitutions of Brent Hall and Seth Hall were a big part in this good win for JBS. IMO............

What a Joke.

There was 3 starters in the game at that point. Pikeville still had most of their starters in the game at the same time. I agree that rest of the starters should have pulled earlier but this is the whole story.

WOW. Pikeville took a beating in the worst way!
When Pikeville wins their average margin of victory is 14 points.
When Pikeville loses their average margin of defeat is 28.3 points.
That's not very good.
JBS is one of the finest mountain teams I have seen play in a while.

I dont care what team it is. Pikeville can have their starters in, they were down by 40 points.

It is not like Pikeville is helpless or something. They are the 3rd ranked team in the 15th...

WOW! I did not expect this to be the final score. Congrats JBS!

Well I'm glad you enjoyed it EOE! I understand that you probably hate Pikeville and that's fine, most people from the surronding area do, but, one thing---these are kids, they can't help that they happen to live in the CITY, as you all call it and these kids tried hard against a really good team that happen to have a superior night. You know what? IMO, YOU NEED A GOOD SPANKING for making such a comment and , no, I would not enjoy it. I do not fine enjoyment in others misforutne.

I thought that JBS did sub quite a bit during the game. However, leaving most of your starters in until 3.30 left in a game that you're ahead of by 40+ , will end up costing you somewhere down the road. Any kid could tear an ACL, sprain an ankle, or get some other sensless injury.
But, maybe the JBS coach had something he wanted to work on. I don't know. It is up to the opposing team to stop you after all.

I will have to say that is a possibility on the t exposure. But what about all the other games that are not on tv and they win by the same margin with starters playing the same amount of time? Back 20-25 years ago, I would guarantee that the starters would have been pulled much earlier. Regardless if it was on tv, or the coaches nephews or whatever. Back then, if a coach tried to run the score up like that, the losing team would start giving very hard fouls until they came out one way or another. Trust me, I know, I been there on both ends of it. But it seems like back then, coaches had more respect for each other and didnt try to do that.

Very Very True

In response to BBF's quote, the other mentioned games are all about individual stats. My reply was that I wish some of the JBS bench players would have got more TV exposure. IMO they surely deserve it............

This is one of the reasons that some dont like JBS....Jim leaves some of his starters in(no names mentioned) no matter what the score and that is just the truth. The thing that is JBS is sometimes given a bad name to help the averages of some of their players. Hopefully no one will get hurt trying to get more points....

I dont know what the big deal is about leaving their starters in. Thats their decision. That is my favorite games to watch. I love to watch a good beat down every now and then. Pikeville should have played better i guess. If they dont like it tell them to get in the gym and get better.

I will also say that JBS's bench was scoring quite a bit at the end of the game.....

So, if it was to happen, someone took out a starter for a game or two, maybe longer, will you be on here saying they should have spent more time in the weight room to get stronger to keep it from happening?
