Belfry vs. Johnson Central

Sarrr Wrote:Belfry made mental mistakes against Magoffin, Pike Central, and East Carter... And still won by +30. We beat Sheldon Clark worse, and they are a better team than all 3 combined. Our boys get pumped for the big games, and there won't be many more this season bigger than this.

Win or lose, it doesn't matter. We'll see where we're weak, and make the improvements we need to be perfect in the playoffs. Winning this game and going perfect for the season is just icing, the cake is a win at Louisville. And icing isn't much good w/o cake.

this is true! JC has had one game like this already. One more cant hurt lolBig Grin

I think 95% of Belfry fans respect and admire the program Russell has established. I feel that most Russell fans have the same opinion of Belfry. The truth is I believe Belfry will have their hands full playing J.C. Coach Matney (a former Belfry boy) will have the eagles ready to play. I'm not sure of this but I think that J.C has never beaten Belfry. If the Pirates come in fired up and knowing this will be their greatest battle of the season to date they will win. If Belfry thinks J.C. is going to roll over and die we will be in for a long night. I'm very passionate about Belfry football, I love the Pirates with everything in me we as fans need to be the example for these young boys. We need to sometimes agree to disagree on certain items. I'm excited about a great game at CAM stadium. I know that Russell has a bye week so we invite all the Russell Red Devil fans and players down to CAM and cheer with us for the mighty Pirates.

VERY NICE POST!

EXACTLY! As much as everyone wants this win...it has nothing to do with Louisville. And as someone has said before, Belfry and JC both really want to avoid injury in this game. YES both want a win but both also needs to be healthy for play offs.

DevilsWin Wrote:Ashland was a tough team this year but had some trouble putting people in the right positions after losing their QB before the season started. Couple that with a super tought District Schedule and Ashland looks weaker than they actually were.

Neither Dustin May nor Ivan Lee could carry Matt Thomas' jock strap.

And after this game I'm sure the JC fans will agree.

May laid down and gave up last year against Russell, because they busted Belfry in the mouth. Belfry wasn't used to being pushed around and fell apart.

I predict more of the same against JC. Go Eagles!

Central- 21
Belfry- 7
I don't know about laying down but I think frustration was more of what happened to Belfry I think Russell knew every play before it took place .Just signs of a well prepared team watched the vid's and knew what to expect .

Go Pirates

Hey buddy! See you there!
I hope the Pirates pull it out, but by far the toughtest game this year. I haven't seen JC play, but what I'm reading, they strike me as a team like Ironton Ohio. Or am I wrong? I know Belfry can play with anyone if there set and ready and playing at the cam will help. I wish the teams a great game and I hope no one gets hurt. I also hope Belfry pulls it out 20-17.
I want JC to pull through.
I think that this will be a classic showdown with the pirates winning 22-21 with maydo run a two point conversion in overtime.
I'm going to go with Belfry in this one. It's tough enough to win on the road infront of the Pirate faithful, but this season they have one of the best teams in the state in all classes. Good luck to both teams.
Both these teams are top 10 in their own classes, but Johnson Central is two classes above Belfry and they can play with the big boys. They're bigger with more depth and it would be a big accomplishment for Belfry to play even with them.

Home field may help swing it a little bit back towards Belfry.

I think JC is still the favorite and they will probably win by a TD. Any closer than that and I'd call it an upset.

Go Pirates!!!!
No upset here! Belfry beats them straight up.

There will not be that many points scored IMO. This will be a quick game.
JC by two touchdowns

Very true here but if Belfry makes the mistakes like they did in the Magoffin,Pike Central, and East Carter games in this one they will get beat, its plain to see,Sorry I like Belfry because I have friends from there and some family, But make the mistakes in this one and it will cost Belfry. Eagles by a TD thats my pick for this game

Someone posted previously that if Belfry won, it would be a mild upset cause JC is in an upper class. However, I posted that it would not be an upset.
Computer rankings are considerably less than reliable and I wouldn't put any stock in them at all. Especially from the big national rankings computer services that cover all states and have no local influence. Everytime somebody posts some computer rankings on here, all i read is complaints.

But if you want to use computer rankings, lets do it.

Maxpreps/Calpreps has Belfry ranked 7th in the entire state in all classes, which is laughable. Their rating is 42.3. They have Johnson Central 14th at 32.7. But according to your link, they are predicting Johnson Central 35-31. Favorite: Johnson Central

Massey has Belfry 12th overall with a .952 rating and Johnson Central at 15th at .873 rating. They are predicting Belfry 36-34. Favorite: Belfry

Cantrell ratings have Johnson Central 13th in the state with a 80.8 rating and Belfry is unranked with a 71.5 rating. Favorite: Johnson Central

Litkenhous ratings has Johnson Central at 102.5 and Belfry at 98.1. Favorite: Johnson Central

So both national rankings have it close, but split, and both in-state rankings have JC as a heavy favorite. Thats 3-1 in favor of JC, if you have any faith in those computer rankings.
I wouldn't consider it an upset if Belfry wins. I've already said it, but I gotta go with Belfry in this one. They have a better o-line and d-line than JC not to mention two stud backs that have pretty much dominated every team they have played. There is nothin JC can throw at them that they havent't seen. I just think Belfry has the better athletes and the better "hoggies", be too much for JC in the end.
If...Then Wrote:I think JC can go and shut the pirates up

Belfry - 21
Johnson Central - 36

The big red D-line will man handle JC O-line.

Belfry-45
JC-21
will see tonight:redboxer:
For any of Belfry's folks on here.....Ya got a number on how many (if any) home games you guys have lost since opening the new stadium? I could prob look it up on khsaa, but a lil lazy this morning! Thanks
