Dunbar is top 25, the way you say it Paintsville beat Bryan Station and that isn't the case. You're argument makes no sense.

Umm SV didnt beat Warren Central... what top 25 teams has SV beaten?.. wow same as everyone else... NONE...

no matter if you had a 200 point lead, or did really good, a loss is a loss... simple as that.. sorry!!!!! SV didn't beat WC.. so quit braggin.. Start talking shit, when you've beaten somebody..

I heard all this similar talk right before WYMT Tourney... how'd that go?... how do you spell it?.. H - A - Z -... oh wait, now i got it.. its HAZARD!!! YAY!>. yelp.. tell Hazard who your daddy is.. lol an how you wanna be the best.. but.. but.. you can't daddy  :yikes:
keep priding yourselves as the best spirit group.. at least you guys do got that going for ya.. maybe they'll come out to your baseball games, which should be starting here soon..

First of all, we will not see Valley lay an egg like last night, I can promise you that. Valley feel victim to the classic "Trap Game". Playing a team they had already beat by 30+ points, with arguably the true 15th region championship waiting in the next round, against an improved team who was well suited to grind out clock. I honestly feel that Valley was thinking about the Belfry game Tuesday and now they get to play them.

I am a Belfry fan, first and foremost, but I know better than to abse my prediction on last night;s game. The fact remains SV has not lost to a 15th region opponent, they have been the class of the region all season, and no matter how ugly last night was, in tournament time it doesn't matter if you win by one or by 40..it's all about surviving.

The biggest effect of last night's game is Valley had to exert a considerable effort, because had they been able to lock it in cruise control Belfry's emotional and fatiguing game against paintsville may ahve ahd a bigger effect than it does now.

Monday, Belfry promptly gave a wakeup call to the other teams in the region that they are the real deal. I think to most teams the Pirates were some sort of a mystery, now they see how good they really are.

I think SV has a legitimate edge in speed, depth, and ball handling on Belfry. The Pirates have fallen asleep at times in transition defense and also have been vulnerable to penetration.. this is definately a weakness Valley can exploit.

On the reverse, Belfry matches up physcially better with SV than anyone else in the region. Booher is very confident, borderline cocky (from his comments on the radio prior to the BL game) about his "small guards". Jaime Case's size, strength, and body control will be more than any of these Valley guards have seen this season IMO. BL exploited that the Wildcats are less than physical inside, ESPECIALLY, with Ashley Hatfield not being at 100%. May could very well be the best post player in the 15th region, not only does he have the size but he is two steps quicker than the Betsy Layne post players, and his strength is unparalelled, throw in Aaron Warren's size and strength (he is also a very intelligent post player)., and Belfry really poses alot of matchup problems for SV.

I personally think after seeing Belfry all season and seeing SV a few times this year that these two teams are very, very different but pretty well even. What i feel will deicde the matchup are three things:

1. Foul Trouble- Valley will attack May and Warren with their cuts and pentration, which could be a fatal mistake, but it also increases the chances of the post players getting in foul trouble. This is where Belfry ahs a decisive edge and with eithe ron the bench it causes big problems.

2. Rebounding- Valley, though undersized, does a great job of crashing the boards. if Belfry can limit the Wildcats to one and done on offense, and can capitalize on some 2nd chance point son the other end, they will be able to make quite a difference in the outcome.

3. Coaching- Maybe it's just my personal opinion, but I will take Coach Casey over Coach Booher any day with two evenly matched teams.

Very nice post SPI!!! I do support valley, but the pirates have a nice team with more than good shot at winning fri. Seems Casey really knows how to get the most from his team. Good luck all I can't wait.

I may be wrong when I say this, but I dont think Shelby Valley or Belfry either one is a favorite in this game. It doesnt matter who beat who in the regular season. This is the final 4 of the regional tourney. Any team left has the ability to win or lose on any night. It wont always be the best team that wins. It will be the team that plays the best for an hour on the night of the game. Regular season schedules doesnt count anymore. Shelby Valley has the best regular season record. Pikeville has the worst that is left in the tourney. Records doesnt matter any more though. All teams in the tourney so far is 1-0. This game will cause match up problems for both teams in the way they play. It will be decided by which teams game plan takes advantage of their strengths and overcomes their weaknesses.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

VALLEY by 4.

its going to be another good game.

Valley had a bad game aginst Besty Lane. Theyt are a good team. It takes a good team to pull out a win on a bad night. Belfry's tough don't get me wrong but Im going with my cats in a 10 point win.
