It wasn't really much of a game up until the 4th, when my Eagles began their impressive comeback.

yeah.... e. johnson was out the 4th

It looks as like many people wrote the Raiders off way too soon.
It sounded as though the Raiders are back to the Run and Gun style again.
They were up around 18 when Johnson went out with an injury.
Good Luck to both teams.

Ill tell you all the truth if Ethan Johnson wouldn't have got hurt JC would have never had a chance......Congrats though JC but everyone knows the truth who watched it. SF is a 15th region contender.

Sounds like a good game, but it's just the 1st game of the season. I don't honestly think we can take too much from it. Johnson Central still won, and if South Floyd relies that heavily on one player (Ethan Johnson) to the point that they can't keep a 18 point lead without him then they won't be too much of a contender in March.
All teams have to do is focus on him if he is the only reason they can win.

Rooster I apologize...I don't do this very often lol. I believe Meek got the technical when he was blocking out a player and held is block while the ball was on ground and apparently the ref didn't like it, thought it was unnecessary I guess but that's the story I got. Why wasn't there a technical called Ethan Johnson kicked Meek on the sideline near the scorer's table?

I really had a lot of respect for Hall until then.
Meek was walking towards the other end of the floor and e johnson flat out just kicks him in the back. Nothing was done.
On the the other hand South Floyd really shot the ball well. #23 was strokin it in the 3rd quarter. Sropped and popped on from there 30 feet once. Also Todd Duff shouldn't be alllowed to referee a middle school game.He has no control of either team.

Bot looks like alfus is affaird to give Sf a good word like always. This was maybe the best game to watch in the last couple of years. McCarty did what he needed to, to help Jc pull out the win hitting the last basket of the game to give JC their only lead of the game. Ethan Johnson was by far the best player of the night 25 pts in 3 qrt. of play, and playing about 80% healthy. SF was a lot better then people where thinking. Jc is a good team with players that can play so do not get into we lost a lot SF played 3 players that have never been in a varsity game including 2 freshmen one who played all of the 4th and ot.

South Floyd came to play and everybody knows when Ethan is hot he is awesome.Wes Akers and Lyle played a great game too!!The Raiders will make some noise as the season moves on.The Eagles showed alot of heart and they also showed just how good than can play together as a team!! These boys can build on this win.I think they are off to a great start as they set out to defend their 15th Region Championship title!!!!! GO EAGLES !!!!!!!!! :letsparty :1:

You really must not get out of the mountains and watch other high school basketball games. He is a good player, yes probably the best in the region, but I've seen many kids better than him in my 30+ years of watching HS basketball, and that is just from driving maybe an hour or two away to Perry Central or any of the Lexington/Louisville teams. But I'm glad he's on my team:Thumbs:

Johnson did not kick him. He was trying to show that it was kick ball when he tried the cross over on Meek.

the anouncers on the radio said Meek tried to tackle a SF player....i beleive that was more than blocking someone out

He proved to be one of the elight seniors in the state last night. They said he had 32pts in the 2nd half on SPXOT.

You and everyone else who thinks this, are smokerin crack. I'm not a big fan of Lando but he put up 51 points on Shelby Valley when he was a freshman, just because McCarty put up 38 points against a down South Floyd doesn't mean anything. Where is watchin-u at, I don't see him/her praisin how great JC is gonna be now, ole South Floyd showed JC how good they really are. I don't wanna hear anything about neither team not shooting the ball well, you score 94 and 92 points you don't have a bad shooting night.

Watchin-u hasn't posted in several days redneck. And I agree, any time you score those kind of numbers and try to say the shooting percentage was bad you either A) took a shot every time you touched it or B)miscalculated on your math. I'm going to go out on a limb and say both teams probably shot around 60% for the game.

But when a player brings a team back from 20 down then hes a hell of a ball player... If Ethan Johnson wouldnt have got hurt Jc would have never won the game.... But they way he played that 4th quater he was the best High school player i ever seen...Sf is alot better than most of alot of ppl thought they would be.... If there hot they can beat any onein the region or play good...im sure they will have bad nights but when there hot they are awsome..........And no 1 can Stop Ethanb Johnson idc what anybody says when he playes his game.......

Hate to break it to ya here bub but I watched the ballgame. I sat behind the SF bench. When Ethan went down it did hurt SF yes but him goin down did not cause them to get beat. #23 went cold and missed 4-5 shots in a role and everyone knows when a game comes down to the wire you can't miss important shots. Another thing is that they slacked up on D, didn't really play good D again until OT. One Player can not determine if that team will win or not. It takes teamwork to win and if the program is based around one person it will indeed be hurting!

Best high school player you have ever seen? Man you need to get out and see some basketball games. He shot about 10 air balls tonight and had about 40 attempts from the field. He at one time missed 10 straight 3 point attempts but kept jacking them up anyways. He was the reason they were down 20 at one point.

well UA23 i dont think that they are alot better than SF since they won by 2 pts in OT....

The last time I watched a Basketball game there were 5 players per team not 4. JC lost Whitaker, Rice, Fannin, Music and Johnson to graduation from last years team, and the player that I was referring to that played a lot last year and is not playing this year is Blanton. Yes McCarty has started for a couple of years.
JC used different starting line-ups last year with Whitaker, McCarty, Rice and Fannin starting about all games, the other starting postion went to either Blanton, Music, or Meeks.

You don't score 94 points while having an off night. SF has some talented players, they are gonna prove alot of people wrong this year.
