Prestonsburg looked better last night than they have all year. Things are really starting to come together for this team. I cannot wait until this game, the atmosphere is always great.

I will go with Belfry by 7+. P-burg is playing pretty good right now, but Belfry is just a little better team this year.

The final meeting for these 2 teams for a while so we should be in for another classic game. I cant even make a prediction for this one.
11-04-2006, 11:18 PM
I will be attending this game and it should be a rokus atmosphere. Should be a physical game but Im going to go with Belfry in this one. Is anyone else going to this game? If so we should meet up.

Going to go with the BIG RED and WHITE! GO PIRATES!

BCF4L Wrote:Tomahawk, did you not read my post? I was a graduate of Prestonsburg, yes. But I also said that I feel that Belfry has the upperhand on Prestonsburg and predicted "my team" to lose. When I predict, I call what I see, not what my heart wants me to think. Of course I want P-burg to win, but I don't think it's going to happen.
Now thats refreshing. Someone predicting with their head and not their heart. Thanks BCF4L. As far as the game goes, I see a much closer game this time around. P-burg can play, no doubt about it and for anyone who doesnt believe it just look at what they did last week to a team many thought was a heavy favorite to end the Blackcats season. Again I think this district is all about matchups. P-burg matched up really well athletically and physically with SC as well as having a mental edge against them with previous season wins and the earlier win in this season. In the Belfry matchup though I give the edge to Belfry. They seem more fundamentally sound, with the exception of a late season collapse on tackling, but athletically I see this game as a draw. P-burg has always been full of athletes and this year is no different. I think the major edge in this game is mental. If P-burg can shake off the early season drubbing they were handed and the upperclassman forget all the hard fought losses and some blowouts from past years then I believe they can pull the upset. Will they? We'll know come friday night. I see a really close game, which would be no different than past Belfry/P-burg playoff matchups.
Belfry 27
P-burg 21

Okay I'm taking back what I said earlier. I'm making a prediction, here it is:
Prestonsburg-28
Belfry--------21
I see the game being tied late in the game and Prestonsburg scores on there last and final drive.

I'm picking Belfry, but the defense has to play the whole game...not let up like at Sheldon Clark
11-05-2006, 02:57 AM
42-13 Belfry
11-05-2006, 02:06 PM
Pburg 28 Belfry 21

P-burg has momentum going in so they will keep it at least kind of close but I see Belfry winning by more than 2 tds.
11-05-2006, 05:02 PM
Belfry by 3 td's
11-05-2006, 05:20 PM
I agree with benchwarmer but if its by more than 3td's I wont be suprised
11-05-2006, 06:36 PM
Belfry 28
Pburg 10
I see P-burg having more success this game moving the ball on Belfry, but I think the Pirates will just have too many weapons when it is all said and done.

I am going to pick P-Burg... In the last meeting with Belfry earlier in the season Prestonsburg showed that they had the defence to stop the power running game in the goal line stop on the first drive of the game. It was the unexpected passing game that caught us offguard, but this week we will be prepared. It will be a close one but im going to say Prestonsburg winning with a last second field goal by Seth Moore. He's not a freshman anymore and he knows now how to kick... good luck to Bbelfry, Im looking forward to Friday GO BLACKCATS

Prestonburg will pull this one out in a close match......24-21 in overtime

tomahawkterror Wrote:I am a graduate of Sheldon Clark and watching how belfry played us it was clear to see that their defense sorta layed down in the second half. Im just saying P-Burg doesnt have a chance im sorry but me and you both know it good night football fans......
And no one really gave P-burg a chance Friday night and they rolled Sheldon Clark.
Actually, the way Sheldon Clark played, a three legged dog would have beat them.
Anyways, my pick...
Belfry win it by 207,234.
Or 19. Whatever.

P-Burg in a close one

Belfry

Pburg has really started to come through towards the end of the season. They have really showed some heart. My bet is going on the Pirates. I believe they are the better team. But anything can happen!
11-05-2006, 10:32 PM
The odds on this game are VERY deceiving. I don't think anyone really believes Prestonsburg is a 50:1 underdog in a rivarly like this. Sure Belfry beat them like a drum earlier in the year, but on any given Friday, things change.
Remember, Sheldon Clark beat Belfry, Washington Co. beat Western, Monroe Co beat Owensboro Catholic, Woodford Co beat Lafeyette...
I think Belfry will win this game and make it, what, 9 in a row over Pburg? Still, I have seen enough Blackcat scrap in the past 4 years or so to give them MUCH more credit then saying this game is 50:1
Look for a battle folks. I think Belfry by 2td's with one coming late to cement the win!

I went by Belfry High today and the sign out front said, tickets on sale for Belfy vs. Sheldon Clark. Is this a joke or a prediction done before Fridays game?
Good luck to both teams!!

If some clerk made an error, don't equate that to "Belfry has no respect for Pburg", because Haywood and Co have been watching film since Friday night!
The Pirates know who they have come Friday, and they know that Pburg will NOT lay down! IMO, there is no way Belfry is not focused come Friday. Keep in mind, players like Chad Steele, Devin Kohari, McCoy, Chapman and others were key players in 04' and these Seniors understand the magnitude of this game.
