This is not the second coming of those Paintsville squads from 10 years ago. It's not even close. All this stuff started when these guys got labeled as 8th graders as being the class of supper kitties. They were not good or ready enough then to play at the varsity level, but they were all that Paintsville had so they had to play. They just have not panned out to be that super group, plain and simple. Now enter the supersized ego from Floyd County and his mommy to further disrupt things. I think that even most hardcore Paintsville supporters have come to that realization.
LOL...I love jealous people...they are just so funny....they also don't know how ridiculous they make themselves look....LOL

Then last Feb 17th you must not have been at Johnson Central to watch them play at their potential, or at the Hoops Classic were these hyped up players actually played like we know they are capable. At Paintsville... do we hype them up??? Hell yes, but we have seen great teams befor and know this bunch can be very, very good!!! They just have to put themselves behind there TEAM and do it!

I think Powell County will start Ryan Romans at center, David Johnson at point guard, Jon Skidmore at shooting guard, Danny Dennis at small forward, and I see Jeremy Banks taking the power forward spot this year.
#40
It's up in the air for powell..all i know is that romans should be the center/ power forward..too many players to decide right now..i look for dennis, johnson, and skidmore to be in the running for some positions as well as banks too
#41
powell co will more and likely start romans..johnson at point and dennis at sf im not sure about the rest
#42
The starting five last year was all mixed around because of either injury or sickness. Last year they started Romans, Johnson, Dennis, Pelfrey, and Sebey. This year idk who will start. Who ever works the hardest will get the 5 spots, so the starting positions are up for grabs.

Whos goin start for Sheldon Clark this year cause as we all kno jaryd is at JC and is theres now and i support him in every aspect of it but im just curious to see who will step up and take his postion because thats big shoes to fill and in my opinoin i think Brady Horn would be the way to go.
#44
no pugh is not playing, he wants to focus on football... dont blame him.... and with paintsville i think it will go
bundy
van
slone
grimm
vanhoose
now thats probably the best line-up i have seen from around here and like MIKE said if they can put the personal bullS**T aside they will be one of the best ball clubs kentucky has seen in a while.
Bundy- has unGodly handles-quick off the dribble-passes are unbelievable-improved more than anybody else on the tigers
van- can shoot the 3- can slam about anyway he wants-plays strong D
slone-improved shot (imagine that)-stronger-more of a team player
grimm- stronger this year- nac for the ball
vanhoose- got bigger- much better on the glass- and picked up some speed.... add that to his already marksman shooting and you have a fine ball player.

now to me thats a good ball team.

BasketBallonlyfan Wrote:There must be a echo here in BGR's. We have heard that same thing for the last two years! Here the echo comes again... Paintsville is loaded with talent, but can they get that talent to play as a TEAM?
Im in agreement with basketballonly I mean weve heard this for years but they just dont seem to gel as a team and the addition of the ferguson kid wont help much at all...
But hopefully they can pull it together and play as a team because we all know they have the talent
