Pre season number 2 in the region.
Inherited every returning starter with one player pre season top 10 in the region.
Pre season top 5 player in the region transferred averaging over 20 ppg with multiple college offers.

6-4 record with zero wins against a 500 team
Clay co has a loaded up team and has failed up to this point.
The 6 wins came against teams with a total of 21 wins between them.
Clay is having a hard time scoring 45 points a game.

Still a lot of basketball left and time to turn the ship around.

Preseason #2 in the region by 1-2 people but as most agreed they were a 4-5 team in the region. They returned everyone from a team that was below.500 last year. Change takes time…the previous coach killed basketball morale in the county. Coach Jones is building back what was torn down.

Clay is Maybe the 5th or 6th best team in the region to start the season. And I’ve seen nothing to change my mind.

HC and Corbin were 1-2 in the Cats Pause. Clay was third, but it was real close with Clay, North and South.

Clay’s season will come down to 1 opponent and potentially 3 games and it doesn’t include anyone outside of the 49th. Have to take small steps and be realistic. HC is by far the best team in the region right now and that may not change anyway.

I think it’s Harlan Co, South, Bell, Corbin, and then it’s a guessing game between Clay, Whitley. I thought North would have been in this group but I was wrong.

No disrespect intended to either team, but I don't think Whitley or Bell had defeated anyone yet to make me think they are clearly better than North at this point.

Others are factors today, of course Whitley, Clay, or Bell could hit a their stride at tourney time and ruin someone's spring, not that much separation in the 13th this season.
